I recently stayed at Lella Meriam hotel in, zarzis Tunisia, which claims a four-star rating. While the staff were welcoming and the reception was commendable, my experience was far from a four-star standard. 1- Water Leaks: During a rainfall, water seeped into my room and the corridors, despite the balcony being securely closed. It took the hotel staff two hours to address this issue. 2- Air Conditioning: The room’s air conditioning was dysfunctional, resulting in unbearably warm nights as well as my son of 8 years old and I could not leave the window of the room and the door of the balcony opened because of mosquitoes and road noise despite the temperature is around 35 . 3- Safety Concerns: I observed electrical wires and power boxes exposed in the hotel corridors, which poses a significant safety hazard, especially for children. 4- Swimming Pool: The pool water was not maintained, and my son experienced eye irritation after swimming . I was informed by staff that they keep adding chloride Without changing the water . . 5- Staff Issues: I noted a general sense of dissatisfaction among the staff, possibly due to delayed salaries. 6- Entertainment: The entertainment programs lacked variety and were repetitive. 7- Cleanliness & Maintenance: The corridors were not kept clean, and there was a noticeable lack of maintenance in the rooms. Thus, I have photographic evidence of these issues. Considering the numerous problems I encountered, I believe the hotel should provide compensation for not living up to its claimed standard.
Hello, some good and bad feedback to mention for this Resort. Generally, the hotel looks nice from the outside and the gardens are lovely and well kept. The downside is that the rooms aren't 4* value, the first room we were allocated: the shower didn't work, the AC was falling to pieces from the wall and of course they gave us the room near the rather loud sound system (not all day) but in the evening the music was on until 12:30. Also, the TV and wifi didn't work in the room, but you don't really need TV&wifi on holiday, I agree! If you arrive in Djerba airport, you need to be aware that the coach journey isn't 30minutes as advertise by the agency. It is a full 60 to 90mins journey to get there depending on how busy the drop off list is and the season of travelling. The food was good and the staff absolutely lovely! The reception team (and Director I believe) helped us to find a better and quieter room. However, the state of the room was still basic and below 4*. But at least everything worked properly. The rooms need a good refurbishment. Overall, the location of the Resort is great and the view stunning. I do understand that COVID had a very negative impact on the Hotel Industry worldwide, but is it a valuable reason to let a hotel deteriorating this way? This review is aimed to be forwarded somehow to the owner of the resort group. Kind regards

I don’t recommend the hotel. On arrival the reception staff were kept us waiting for an hour. There were three of the reception staff and four guests to check in! One of the staff didn’t want to change my money into Tunisian dinars. He said the exchange rate is bad now, but will be better in the evening. It was not true. The room is very basic. The air conditioning doesn’t work in the mornings until around 12. The bathroom is dirty, nobody cleans the mirrors or shower. Old towels that have changed colour from white to greyish. The food is ok, but nothing special. Small selection of fruit, practically only watermelons and melons. Baguettes fresh only in the morning. Plates and cutlery dirty, the same applies to tablecloths. No fresh juices, no diet versions of soft drinks. Very poor quality coffee in the main restaurant. Better coffee in bars. Bar and restaurant staff are quite nice and helpful. Reception staff slow and ignore you as long as possible. No free internet and the one you can pay for is only available in the lobby and it’s very slow. It is definitely NOT a four-star hotel. I have been in much better three-star hotels so I would give it two stars.
