Candlelight Lodge

We went to the Lodge for our first night in Thredbo. We could not have asked for a more enjoyable and delicious experience. Staff were friendly, helpful, attentive and went above and beyond to make our evening special. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavoursome. So impressed by the quality of the food and service. We will be recommending to friends!

Very welcoming & a great bar & restaurant to eat while in Thredbo. A large selection of German beers for all tastes, and food to match….just a snug and inviting place to while away an hour or 2 after travelling a lot of km’s. When next in Thredbo I would go back there within a heartbeat!

Went here for a beer and stayed for dinner. Awesome range of German beers- some on tap. Looks like a Bavarian Bar. Excellent German cuisine- especially the Jäger Schnitzel with Spaetzle. Would go back just for the beer and this meal and excellent service.

Lovely staff were friendly especially the manager Annie. The food was excellent as was the entertainment on Thursday Saturday night. Entire hotel needs update beds are hard beyond any form of comfort. The top verandah is rotting needs replacement. No daily service to the rooms at the price you should not have to make your own bed. No onsite parking. We won't stay again.

My girlfriends and I stayed at Candlelight recently on a quick girls ski trip. We really couldn’t have had a better experience. Annie and her staff are amazing. Four of us shared a lovely family room, which was clean and cosy. The daily breakfast was amazing... get the porridge, it’s fab. We dined in house on our first night and had a delicious dinner and nothing was too much trouble. Annie looked after us when we skied after check out, taking care of our stuff and letting us use their facilities to shower and change. Generous common areas in the bar and dining room as well as a sauna are an added bonus in this sweet little hotel. We will definitely be back. Thanks Annie and all the lovely Candlelight staff! Annie allocated us a huge room with private balcony looking over the mountains. We used the sauna and it was amazing. The showers had a lovely pressure and the towels were very plush. The king sized bed was really comfortable and warm. The bar and restaurant had a fantastic and social vibe. We played cards, chess and drank beers while the sound system played upbeat music. The whole lodge has such a happy atmosphere. We had an incredible stay and would 100% book again. Highly recommend the breakfast option!

Everything I needed

Staff were all lovely, the details on ********** is very incorrect - no welcome drinks, breakfast not included, not a top floor room - someone needs to update this - it did influence my choice in hotel so was disappointing to be told it’s incorrect. The room is pretty rundown and daggy - the shower curtain and grout need a seriously good clean. Heaps of pillows and blankets which is good. The bar is outdoors and directly below the rooms and is sooo annoyingly loud - must have been 20-30 loud drunk people there until midnight - sounded like they were in our room - last night was not a good sleep. Restaurant was awesome!!
