YHA スレッドボ(YHA Thredbo)

I had an excellent time at Thredbo YHA the team were absolutely lovely and the experience was homely and social! I’d go back in a heartbeat! The facilities were great and the team went the extra mile to ensure I had a good time! Particularly Silvia, one of the receptionists, spent her days off hitting the slopes with me!

Strange experience staying here, and perhaps they were only partially to blame. But, I didn't get any confirmation email / message when I booked the place - I only received this two days after I left, and then I kept receiving a few more messages talking about my "upcoming arrival, etc.". It's an OK place - it doesn't feel the cleanest, the rooms look a bit like prison cells, and the staff are no where to be seen (which kind of exacerbates the feeling of the place being poorly maintained). Also there's no parking at this place, it's a few hundred meters down the road - which isn't the end of the world, but is isn't the most convenient either. Serves its function as a cheap hostel where you can sleep the night.

We had a lovely stay again at the YHA. It is very close to everything and the rooms are clean and well maintained. There is lots of equipment in the kitchen. There is not a lot of space to sit in the evening and as there was a running club there, we couldn't even sit at a table for dinner on one evening. I think we were the only family at the YHA so it was a bit awkward. Two benches set up in the lounge with people getting massages. However, we loved our stay and couldn't fault the place.

the hostel cancelled my booking within 24 hours of arrival. Luckily hotel.com found me and paid for alternative accommodation in Jindabyne

Was a nice spot, pretty quiet for a hostel. The staff were nice and friendly too.

Central location in Thredbo with very clean facilities. Great fully equipped communal kitchen with everything!! Spacious dining area with indoor and outdoor seating providing a beautiful view. Comfortable sized bunk rooms with clean linen provided on check in. I stayed in a room without an ensuite and the communal bathroom upstairs had only one toilet with two showers in the females...I stayed in off peak so wasn't an issue but I imagine if they were fully booked in the winter there may be some lines for the toilet or you're running downstairs to the other toilet. Parking close to the facility is very limited so consider dropping your luggage off and then going to find a parking spot in the designated bays. I'd read reviews of this and when I quizzed the host over the phone before arriving they were super helpful with directions and suggestions on where to go. Staff were really friendly, approachable and helpful with great knowledge of the area and I definitely will be back for another stay to keep exploring this beautiful part of the world!
