Great ! I know this place has had many bad reviews in the last couple years, honestly for the price it was great! Friendly staff, easy check in, clean room, bathroom was a little out dated but clean, great water pressure, comfy bed. Nice simple breakfast, served to us. I would definitely come again.
The designation ”PREMIER” suits this hotel perfectly. Having been tasked with planning a large 3 day event in Timmins, I am so grateful that I found this hotel and that they were able to accommodate my requirements and strict planning timeframe. The service was genuine from everyone I encountered. From ch/in to chk/out and everything in between, team that works here are great at what they do and like serving their guests. The hotel itself is well maintained, rooms are clean and comfortable, the event spaces are bright and the service in every area is great. As for the food - so so good. My delegates were well fed - and at a reasonable price (both in the restaurant and event menu). I was fortunate enough to work with both the Owner of the hotel and it's GM to get my event off the ground. They were both on-site during the 3 days we were there and they dug right in to execute everything we needed. I definitely recommend this hotel - whether you need to plan an event or you're just passing through. Thank you Carole, Cauline, Patience and team for all of your help.
After a 9 hour drive, we found the room we booked for the weekend was extremely small, dark, and dated. Furniture had obvious stains and curtains had a hole. I went to the front desk to cancel the rest of our stay and the clerk offered us a free upgrade which was nice on her part. It turned out to just be a larger version of the first room. The noisy ac went off at around 10pm (an energy saving feature I was told) and then the smell of the carpet was noticeable. The room next to us was checked in after midnight and they were so loud we couldn't sleep. The walls are paper thin. The clerk did ask them to quiet down after we and another room complained but they wouldn't and we eventually had to switch rooms at 3:30am. He placed us next to the laundry facilities that had loud noises early in the morning. The next day we had to spend time trying to find a new hotel and recovering from the lousy night stay at Microtel. Spend a few dollars extra and stay in the hotel near the airport. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable.
