ザ トラウト イン(The Trout Inn)

We were recommended this lovely pub and we weren't disappointed. Lovely Sunday lunch with more than enough on the plate. Individual dishes of piping hot veg and your own jug of gravy - nice touches. A long list of desserts to choose from, all home made and delicious! Clean and friendly with a good amount of space between the tables. Looking forward to returning to try the evening menu.

Have been for lunch today with my husband. No one in pub when we walked in. Asked for 2 teas I asked for 1 with soya and one with cows milk. They had no soya, only oat but it was out if date. So I went for a soft drink. Ordered scampi and chips x 2. When the food arrived there was 8 pieces of scampi and a few chips if you can call them that. Thin skinny chips with skin on and very flacid and not very nice. A few lettuce leaves 2 slice of tomato, 2 slices of cucumber,and raw onion. The scampi didn't taste like scampi. In fact the meal was not very appetising. We paid £12.95 each for that.We won't be going back.

Our stay at The Trout Inn was very good. The room was clean and fresh with everything we needed. Lovely pub a**osphere and dining room. The food was excellent for our evening meal and breakfast was also very good. Will definitely visit again. Thank you Dave and Heather.

Warm friendly greeting on arrival. We were shown to our room which was very clean and tidy. The Inn is located in a quite location with little traffic noise. Our evening meal was excellent. Breakfast was very enjoyable. We would definitely revisit for the food! Our only gripes were that our room was located on the first floor over the bar toilets (nothing can be done about that). More concerning was that our bed mattress was very uncomfortable. (ok on the window side but hard and lumpy on the other)

Have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Trout Inn and had a great time. Dave our host was so welcoming. The room was clean and well furnished. We had a really comfortable room with everything you could need. We had 2 evening meals and breakfasts there and could not fault the service. The food was freshly prepared and tasted superb. Great value all round. Had a fab time.

If you're looking for a convenient place to stay with a warm welcome where you're made to feel at home, then look no further. The food is excellent, with a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day, and a delicious evening meal (including Trout :) ) to welcome you back after your day out. The staff are most kind, with nothing too much trouble for them. Well worth a visit if you're exploring Powys / Bannau Brycheiniog

Felt really at home everyone so friendly and helpfull

Stopped for a meal on the way back to our holiday cottage. Very accommodating to us and our dog. Menu choice was good, food was tasty and owners and staff were welcoming and friendly. Service was timely. Toilets were spotless. Would return.
