The Edgcumbe Hotel & Deck Restaurant

What a wonderful place to relax and spend time together. Friendly, relaxing vibes in the hotel and in the wonderful Deck cafe - couldn’t beat the views, food and service as a brunch spot. As hotel residents you get to choose a dish from the extensive Deck menu. Hot cross buns on the additional residents’ buffet was a lovely touch on Easter Sunday. We felt embraced by the warm welcome from the lovely family from the moment we arrived. Stunning views over the beautiful bay and well thought-out, renovated rooms, including the holy grail of a family room for 5 (single and bunks in the children’s room). Perfect for surfers, with a storage area for the boards and easy walk down to the beach - we hired boards from the surf cabin just down the road. The owners and every member of the staff team were wonderfully kind and thoughtful, making our Easter break particularly memorable. Thank you.

We stayed in room 5 (sea view room). Very clean and bed was very comfortable. Bathroom is a bit on the small side and the shower area is very small. Beautiful views from our room. Breakfast was excellent and generous portions also. But it's the staff that make this place into a thriving business. They go out of their way for customers/guests and nothing is too much of a problem to them. They're so friendly and helpful to everyone. We will defiantly be back one day in the near future. Top tip - If you want a decent size bathroom and shower area, I recommend booking the sea view double luxury bathroom which is what we will do the next time.

Lovely, clean, bright room with view of Summerleaze Beach which is about a minute walk away. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. Would highly recommend for solo travellers like me or families. Wifi worked well for me too. I am definitely going to stay there again soon.

The edgcumbe hotel and deck restaurant are just so lovely. The room was lovely and spacious with everything we needed. The bed was lovely and comfy. It was clean and cozy. The views are outstanding. The staff are all so lovely, so warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The food in the deck restaurant is the best food I have ever eaten. All in all an amazing weekend away and I can’t wait to go back!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my partner, and we will definitely be returning. The rooms are bright and airy (we had a superior room on the top floor, with a beach view) The staff are AMAZING! The siblings who run the hotel & restaurant are super friendly, welcoming, and really love what they do. It's clear from the passion and effort that goes in to their place every single day. Breakfast is EPIC and comes with your hotel stay. All fresh and locally sourced produce cooked to order, with a some amazing home made jams and sauces (I would have bought the chilli jam and the Chipotle mayo if I could have!) The restaurant is banging. Literally the best dinner I have had in many years, anywhere in the world. Their Prawn cocktail deck special is to die for, with giant fresh crevettes grilled to perfection. I could go on and on about this place, it really was brilliant, and we will definitely be back

Just spent 2 glorious days at this amazing hotel. The welcome, customer service, food and drink are second to none! Would highly recommend and look forward to another stay. If I could rate higher than 5* I would. What a find......

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and had the room with the large bathroom. Great location, everywhere in Bude is easily walkable. Sea/beach views also great. We found everyone working at the hotel to be very friendly and unusually these days, happy in their work! If/when we return we will ask for the same room. The bathroom was huge, with a jacuzzi bath, walk-in shower and a great view from the bath. The food is outstanding. The restaurant gets busy in the evening with non guests, but we were able to get a table without a problem. I think the breakfasts were the best we've had at any hotel. We didn't need to eat again until evening! The only downside is the parking. There are 3 free spaces in front of the hotel, but these get taken quickly. Then there is limited free parking in the street out front. As there are lots of hotels in the road, this parking is also limited. When this fills up, there is council parking, which is chargeable. If you are looking to stay in Bude, I wouldn't consider anywhere else.

My son and I stayed here for 3nights for a golf trip. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Wonderful food, friendly, prompt service and great rooms. Wonderful value for money. We would not hesitate to go back.

Had a lovely dinner here. Food was amazing and the staff were fantastic. Even the manager/owner went around to everyone asking how their food was etc. Amazing customer service and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend this place if visiting Bude.
