ホテル ラ ペルラ(La Perla)

I am giving this hotel 5 stars for the location. Close to the train station, main center and it's a 10 min walk to the beach. Rooms are very basic and dated!. AC was weak but it was enough to keep us cool. Showers are extremely small but doable if you are average height/size. Just avoid the free breakfast - it's not edible. They offer pre ordered plates which are basically day old pastries, cold cuts and meats that look like canned and a coffee machine with bland drink. The female staff here are very disconnected, don't make an attempt to say hello or good morning. If you try to ask them something you are inconveniencing them - not approachable! The males are friendly and willing to help. WiFi is very weak in the rooms - constantly dropping. Beds are ok - hard but I was still able to get sleep. Hotel is clean though - no complaints there. Overall this is a good hotel for 1-2 nights max. Check in is at 4pm, not a minute sooner. At least you can go to the beach though as they can lock up your luggage. Front lobby is ghost town...you can never find anyone here. I don't think I would've survived here any longer than 2 nights. Do yourself a favor and pay extra to stay somewhere else. We will not be returning to stay here nor will we recommend this to our family and friends.

We had a nice modern room incl breakfast, location was great and staff were very helpful. Only one negative thing to say is the noice of the other rooms/hotel area. But room rate was very good. We enjoyed our time here and extended our reservation as well. I would definitely come back to Tropea and would book the hotel again.

Negative aspects: I found about the Hotel la Perla: dated hotel, basic and not appealing .Shower very uncomfortable to use, tv old fashioned and not working, room at the back of the building was with bad views. Place is noisy at night. Positive aspects: it was Clean, breakfast was good, the hoel is in a good and strategic position, and the staff was helpful, even if they don't provide for free maps of the town "because of the Covid" (!!)

Our room was cheap. We were on the ground, by a street, so quit noisy, The door to the bathroom was hanging and difficult to close. Only one big bedsheet and one big synthetic bed-cover - not enough for two friends. Bedlamps to low for reading.The fridge was nice, but leaving water on the floor. No chair for the desk, but two cosy leather-chairs. Only one person allowed in the elevator for the breakfast-serving - it could take some time. Nice electricity system for danes. Very clean. 24 hour reception and small bar, very helpful. Very good service. In the lounge area two evenings, single girls were sitting there, speaking on the phone for a very long time. One of them of police, handcuffs a.o. I am not sure the girls stayed at the hotel.

Excellent location comfortable beds and clean. Bathroom was very outdated and shower did not drain well. The breakfast included was nice and the staff were very friendly. I would come back again

Simpel room- bed ,tv from 1990 not very charming. But good location. Staff morrning could speak a bit English. Staff evening only Italian.

It was ok nothing great, shower was really weak and not warm (I don’t mind I guess) the AC was not cool but a good location from the beach and a fair price for what you get if you don’t have high expectations. Free breakfast was good.
