This has been a go to place for me every year. My stay here has always been spectacular for the total experience. Although I haven’t stayed in the rooms the facility looks as it should, light, free and airy. The staff is the same, never giving stress and totally laid back. This is a must for this type of location and they never stop delivering. Val has built a wonderful destination experience

I stayed at the Sanctuary five nights, I had absolutely amazing time. The staff were super nice and loved the facility with amazing nature! All rooms have beautiful balcony overlooking gorgeous trees. I purchased the platinum package which included all therapies. I concluded my retreat having the Bufo alvarius medicine, I experienced absolute love, perfect love which dissolved all my emotional pains. Feeling totally renewed after my trip! Loved it!

I will start with the 'fluffy stuff', the more surface level experience. The Jaguar room I stayed in was lovely for me. It was clean, had a great soft vibe and I felt as though I was in a boutique hotel room - I loved it. The setting was peaceful in amongst the trees in the sanctuary even though it was by a busy road. It was not silent yet there was more than enough sound dampening from the road. Having done 2 Bufo ceremonies in the week, I felt safe and comfortable in the sanctuary. The staff are awesome: attentive, articulate and supportive - exactly what I needed for my first experience with Bufo. And then there's the Bufo experience itself. I have been on a deep and intense exploration of my inner self for 10 years and I could not have imagined the transformation that took place after the 2 Bufo ceremonies. In short they have completely changed my life. I had memories of what happened in my childhood that were painful to remember yet I am a changed man as a result. I feel nothing but unconditional love for the world and everything in it, including myself. Mario and Paniz were my guides on my journey and they are nothing short of angels. Supportive, nurturing, loving and gentle and embody the true essence of what this medicine is all about. I had an issue during my first ceremony which was beautifully remedied by the staff and that made my experience even more trusting. For a first time sitting with Bufo I felt held like I'd never felt before and what the team and creators of Bufo Alvarius Sanctuary have birthed is truly beyond words. From an overflowing heart, thank you to all those that helped make miracles happen for me

This sanctuary feels poorly managed. We had problems from the beginning with them losing our reservations and having to change our reservations and everytime i called it was a different person that was not on the same page as the last person. I would respond to emails they sent and nobody ever got my responses. It seemed very chaotic and poorly run. Although we loved our facilitators, the ceremony itself felt very business like- having to be on a schedule. You cannot rush this process with a schedule. I think the whole day should be available for the guest doing the ceremony. Also its on a very loud and busy street. I could hear the cars/horns in the background while in my teepee for my ceremony. Thankfully we paid for the integration tour afterwards but i feel this should be part of the package no matter what for people. The integration is the most important part and without the help of specific staff (gracias Til and Jesus) we wouldve felt very lost. And the integration should be longer than one 3hr session- it should be required and build in for days after for support and healing. I feel like bufo sanctuary will take anyone's money and does not take the time and effort to make sure people are as protected as possible and as cared for as possible. With the exception of specific staff mentioned who were extremely caring and helped us afterward when they were not required to by any means.

Mix up with our room booking. Dr alvarius was sure to remedy the situation with a very gracious offering of a few services. The facilitators were very warm and welcoming and made us feel very safe and assured our first time ever doing it. With out a doubt this is the best place to go especially for a first time experience it really helps ease the nerves and like i said how safe you feel the whole time.

We recently went to the bufo sanctuary and had the bufo experience. I’ve never done it and felt 100% comfortable there and very safe. I trusted my facilitators through the process. Although my mind is too strong to get to the ultimate level that others do it was a great first step in my journey and I can feel the healing already. My boyfriend had an amazing experience and it was true nirvana. I will be back.

This is amazing place to go. It’s tropical like most peaceful place to get away. Everything there is very clean the staff were polite and helpful the rooms were clean and the bathrooms. I recommend this place to any one. And rooms are affordable.

Everything here is perfect. Clean, well maintained, staff is friendly and helpful ( speak English and spanish ), 15min bike ride to the beach, 10–15 min walk to more dining options in the center of Tulum. Rooms are cozy and clean. Pool was nice and refreshing! Only thing, but that’s everywhere in Mexico, you can hear everything through the walls but a pair of ear plugs is an easy fix if you are a light sleeper. If you are here for healing ceremonies - facilitators are knowledgable and will make you to feel safe and well taken care of ＜3 Definitely try the floatation tank ( perfect after Bufo to relax and integrate ) and the sound healing bed!

Bufo Alvarius offers healing therapies that are life changing. They hold space for you to do the deep inner work allowing you to let go of past trauma. You leave feeling like a brand new person. I highly recommend Bufo Alvarius!
