Lovely view from the garden terrace. Great place for afternoon tea under the shade of the lush green trees. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Meals are freshly prepared. Rooms are comfortable but in high summer could be hot as there is no Airconditioning. A desk fan is provided which is useful. The tasty complimentary shortbread biscuits with your morning coffee are a nice touch.

Avaricious attitude from the manager, Nadja, boasting about the monthly income from the local Spar hiring their Boma for staff events and how minuscule their guests are in terms of finances and priority.

You know the difference of a nice hotel to a great one is the little things.We were there for one night and leaving early the next morning and the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating from packing us a packed breakfast to assisting us with info.The rooms are unique with the finishes and the ambiance created.we loved the wood.makes the place feel a bit closer to nature.The hotel and the room was very clean and comfortable.The tea station was well stocked with fresh milk in the fridge.in the bathroom the toiletries supplied were in large containers and not these dinky ones you usually find.The gardens were well kept.my only complaint is that I only got to spend the one night there.will defiantly put it on the list of places to revisit.

Beautiful property and views. Very well kept gardens. Very large and stylish rooms. The lounge is welcoming with a nice fireplace for the cold days. The food was excellent. However nobody from the management to welcome us and to give us information about the Manor. Nobody to help for the luggage.

Setting absolutely beautiful - tranquil with lovely views. Reception warm and friendly and willing to go out of their way for us! Food excellent - and available to dining without pre booking. Rooms comfortable - only problem was the DSTV did not allow sport channels

We had a wonderful three nights. Everything was excellent, particularly the service. The manager Elsa led by example, with just the right attitude for the hospitality industry- friendly and attentive.

Stunning location out-of-town with the lodge set to overlook the dam. The lodge is charmingly decorated with great attention to detail. The unique fireplace adds to the cozy atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable including the stoep hanging-chairs overlooking the dam. Elsa and team were exceptionally friendly / helpful, their service superb. Breakfast and dinner both delicious. An experience to repeat.

Over-all a great experience. Elsa was a gracious host and very acommodating. She made us feel welcome and made sure we were comfortable. We can definitely recommend the food at the restaurant- enjoyed it very much. Beds were comfortable and had everything we needed in our room. Will definitely recommend.

A very nice hotel lodge in a perfect quiet spot, very charmingly decorated, with a very nice garden, excellent food, a nice bar with a warming fireplace. The lodge is well equipped to deal with the ever-present load shedding, thanks to gas ovens and a generator. … and a big thank you for the excellent and super-friendly service !

Quiet and beautiful location in the majestic scenery of Dragensberge, some km outside Underberg with a beaitiful garden. We spend 2 relaxing days in this charming loadge, big and nice rooms, delicous prepared breakfast and dinner made this stay perfect. We really can recommend Malchate for a stay in the Underberg area.

Very lovely place. The room was perfect. The service great. Love the wood in the bar area and the peacock family that greeted us each morning.

Mike and his staff were so accommodating we felt very welcome. The food was also very tasty. It was a pity about the rain but it gave us a chance to really unwind and relax. The only downfall was the road getting to the facility but with the overall experience being so good we lived with the roads being so bad.

Very welcoming place tucked away in the trees. The surrounds are wonderful with a view over the dam. The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed, electric blanket and additional waterbottle!! In addition, everything was supplied to cope with the omnipresent load shedding. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfasts and superb evening meals.
