When I made the booking I was told that the river facing rooms were fully booked but that we could have a non-river facing room, which we booked. It turned out that these rooms are right next to their building expansion (adding rooms), in other words, when you open your window or door, you have workers right on the outside. We felt that we should have been informed about the construction work, we then would not have rented the room. The rooms are actually not rentable. Also, we couldn't use the room during the day due to the noise and the invasion of privacy. However, we were given a very nice family suite for one night (the hotel was fully booked for the next night), which we cannot fault and we also didn't pay for the upgrade. The room was river facing and slightly away from the building works with a lovely view over the Orange River. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good. If it wasn't for the 'construction' room, we would have had a good stay.

We enjoyed River Palace Manor. Quality service reception. Assisting us regarding information. Staff assistance regarding our needs. Beautiful spacious rooms and garden in front of the rooms All in all Great Ambiance. We will come again.

Amazing stay - can truly recommend this wonderful place. Beautifully situated next to the river. Beautifully decorated and clean rooms. Nice braai area. Wonderful variety for breakfast. Friendly staff.

A great place to stay. Very friendly and warm reception. Spent 1 night on the way to the Kgalagadi. Riverboat sunset cruise, dinner at Red Ox a beautiful view from the room and breakfast at Rever Place. Highly recommended

Wonderful stay! Could not fault the River Place Manor on anything. Management went out of their way to accommodate us and the refrigeration of our food before we set off for the Kgalagadi. Will visit again.

We enjoyed a beautiful room with a lovely balcony and superb views across Orange River. After our days our we cooled down in the pool on several occasions. The staff are really courteous and helpful at all times and provide an excellent breakfast.

We have stayed here twice before and again we’re not disappointed! Lovely spotless room over looking the Orange River with well trained, efficient and friendly staff. We plan to stay here again when we return to Upington. Thank you to all the staff who go out of their way to accommodate guests and always helps with a smile. We had severe interactions with Mornè and want to especially thank him. Keep up the good work!

We have stayed here twice before and once again it was an absolute pleasure staying here. You can not fault them on anything. We had an extremely private room with a stoep overlooking the Orange River. The room was comfortable, well equipped and clean. All of the staff were dealt with were amazing and we especially enjoyed our interactions with Morné who was always willing to help and extremely friendly and efficient. We will stay here every time we visit family in Upington and can highly recommend this manor.
