ホテル・バナラス・ハヴェリ(Hotel Banaras Haveli)

The hotel was clean and comfortable with a nice deck area where I could set up my computer to work on my projects. Since the hotel was within close proximity to the Ganges River it was required to be Veg Only. The breakfast has a Very limited choice of only a few items that did not site well for someone that is not vegetarian. I did figure out after the 2nd night that the reason I did not have hot water for my shower was that I was not showering until later in the evening.

We stayed here for 4 nights and the stay was very comfortable. The hotel also has a guide that you can avail of. We took Mr. Pandey as our guide and it was a very nice experince. He knows the nitty gritties of the city, took us to some really good food places. We also got very good darshan for the temples.

Thanks to Ajay Pandey our wonderful local friend who proudly showed us the highlights of his home, Ajay lead us safely on an incredible spiritual journey to Ganga Aarti, temples, river cruises and through the old streets of Varanasi. We can highly recommend Ajay. Namaste Suzanne and Gary

Food food and everything is good..and hotel space also beautiful…hotel room size also good. Great location of hotel. Rooms are very space and clean. Recommend to very guest. Staff very helpful and ready to help. Restaurant is very nice food

The location is walking distance to assi ghat. The green garden serves good food on the roof but the rooms need a DEEP CLEAN. The fridge was so noisy I had to unplug so I could sleep and the drains seemed to also make a lot of noise. It was lovely when it first opened but it looks a bit tired now.

Nice location, very close to Assi Ghat. The rooms are really spacious. Please go in for Room 431, which has a beautiful view of river Ganga. The hotel is surrounded by Ashrams and in the morning you can hear chanting of shlokas as well as instructions of Yoga teacher. There is a beautiful roof top garden with an awesome view of Banaras and river Ganga. The staff is very cordial and supportive. Rahul at the front desk as of great help. Con: Breakfast was not at all upto the mark as there were hardly any options. Just one dish per day, thats it.

Very nice Hotel to stay, right next to Assi Ghat, very clean, wonderful view from rooftop restaurant, good food and very friendly and courteous stuff 😃 would definitely stay a second time - thank you!

It was a nice stay here and the tour guide that is included with the room is great. His name is Ajay Pandey and he is really very helpful. The service staff is friendly and the rooms are clean too. I had a nice stay with my family. The rooftop restaurant has great views also. Overall a nice experience.

We picked this hotel for the first couple of days of this trip because there was a religious function organized by our group in the Bay Area that was walking distance to the Aasi Ghat. The location is not more than a 5-7 minute walk from the venue and 5 minutes from the Aasi Ghat itself. My father got here on March 26, stayed in a different room with one bed until my mom & I arrived on March 30th which then we switched the room to accommodate for 3 people. We got room 481. Staff were very cordial & friendly during our encounter as this hotel predominately serves tourists and folks from other parts of India. Hence my interactions with the staff were generally positive. Room itself was very big and had 2 beds, a sofa and even a large closet which I loved. Bathroom was very nice & sleek especially with the sink and shower. Bed was extremely comfortable all of the days we used the room. A few downsides to this hotel were that the Wifi password stops working after 10 tries which meant the last day we had to resort to using my phone’s internet which consumed nearly 100% of our mobile data. Shower had a little bit of a weaker pressure and we had to forcefully pull the handle to the left such that the water would get warmer (and yes it broke but we still got it to work). While the restaurant was good for breakfast & having some drinks (lassi, lemon soda) in the heat, they lacked having butterscotch milkshake for any of the days. Room Service was another problem. Typically any hotel we will have the option to get a coffee/tea in the morning. However, when we called one morning needing it, flatly they said no, especially if some of us do not know Hindi. Besides the short comings, if your intention is to stay walking distance to the ghat this is your best bet! I’ll be back here depending on the purpose in the future!
