ホテル ラ フィアンセ デュ ピラト(Hotel la Fiancee du Pirate)

Spectacular views, good facilities, tasty breakfast, and friendly hosts. Rooms are basic but clean. I was left grumpy though as I have never had my refundable deposit returned. Despite there being no reason for keeping it. Schoolboy error on my part. I should have insisted on collecting it before we left!

New owners since my last stay but improvements being made. Better wifi, unbelievably delicious breakfast. Hosts were lovely and welcoming. Location perfect for all transport and access to waterfront.

The place is really nice. Everything is clean and the owners are very friendly. The only reason why I don't give 5 stars is that breakfast was 18€ per person. Price was not visible and it wasn't worth that amount of money.

We had a lovely stay here with excellent and friendly service from the owners and gorgeous views from the balcony overlooking the pool. We can’t wait to visit again!

Great little hotel, quiet with great view( be prepared is all the way up on the hill great exercise to go to the village on foot❤️

I struggle to review this property as we did not have a great service experience. The female host is rude and not service oriented. Upon arrival and 2:50 PM, we tried to check-in after a long drive to get there, she informed us that we needed to come back as check-in was at 3:00 PM and our room was not ready. While I completely understand that we arrived 10 minutes early, she could have simply asked us to wait in the lobby or terrace for that time instead of turning us away. The lobby of the property is lovely with a terrace and bar area with a view. This is pretty much the only nice area of this tired property. The rooms are small and sp****ly decorated. As a guest, you are not allowed to use this area unless you are purchasing drinks or food items from the host. She was extremely focused on money and purchasing everything from her. She hangs out in that area and talks about all of her "homemade goods" that are available for purchase. Breakfast, drinks and apparently some snacks. There is no menu for food items, so you really have no idea what is available. The second night we were there, we were extremely tired from touring all day and didn't want to eat out at a restaurant. We picked up a small pizza and went to sit on the terrace to eat it as there was a notice in our room to not eat any food in the rooms. She approached us and told us we couldn't eat there because she makes some "salads" for purchase. There was no menu or indication of this. She embarred us.

Such a beautiful property and run by an amazing and personable couple! Had the room with a sea view king bed and twin bed and it was very large and clean and the view was unbeatable. The location is great the parking was a huge plus! The brasserie and bakery near the hotel are amazing as well.

The fiancee du pirate is an small owner run hotel high above Villefranche sur Mer in Col de Villefranche. The price is reasonable compared to those on the main sea front. The breakfast was excellent although starting at 8.30am was a little late for us and at 16 euros a person, I thought a little expensive. The owners were friendly most of the time, although their constant smoking in the public areas was a little disappointing. The rooms are as I expected, a little tired in places but the aircon worked well and the beds were comfortable. The pool was lovely, quiet most of the time and a perfect temperature with a lovely view. Walking to Villefranche sur Mer ( where the main restaurants and shops were) down the 700 steps, took some effort and took about 25 minutes and I would say only the very fit would attempt to climb back up in the height of summer so we spend lots of money on ubers instead of walking back, although we did walk on several occasions when the uber vehicles were unavailable. (Def not recommended for those with less than moderate fitness levels though!) Would I stay here again? No, mainly because of the location being so high above the main town. If you are on a budget and want to stay on the outskirts of villefranche, then it's not a bad option but I think you can do better in Beaulieu or Nice itself and then catch the train to the lovely and lively Villefranche sur mer.

Wonderful hosts, pool, and views from the room. Super easy to get an Uber to travel to Nice, Eze, or other nearby destinations.
