Our stay was perfect in every way. it was the low season so it was very quiet, however this didn't affect the service in any way. Every member of staff always had a smile, and there was never anything they couldn't do for you. Our room attendant, Udayanga (I think how how his name was spelt) was a lovely guy. His passion for towel folding into animal shapes was almost as good as his passion for cricket. we had many chats about that as the T20 World Cup that was on at the time. The activities guys, Crishmal & Pauindu were great. Every day they came to see us by the pool to tempt us into the many games they had on offer. While you are there, try the Japanese restaurant, Hiroshan, Rohan & Binura will make your evening perfect. The food was lovely. while it was not in the "all inclusive" package the prices were very reasonable. Talking of food, the choice for all meals was very good, it may have been the low season, but there was still plenty to choose from. I enjoyed a curry most days!!!! the food and beverage team were lovely. service was good and I tried to race them to the door so that I could open it myself from time to time. Let us not forget the front desk staff, always helpful in every way. So thank you to Hansa, Tharindu and all of the other staff. To sum up, we hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. If someone tells you there is a railway line outside, they are right. however there are very few trains, none at night. Plus if you wave at the passengers who are hanging out of the carriage windows, they wave back!!! It was our 4th visit to Sri Lanka, we went there after I had been ill for 6 months. I returned home well rested and relaxed thanks to everyone at the Royal Plams Beach Hotel. Mr & Mrs Gould Portland UK Room 309, arrival 16th June 2024
