One of the most amazing holidays we have ever experienced. We have travelled all over the world from Barbados, The Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, Thialand, Europe to name a few and Sri Lanka did not disappoint. Stayed at the 5* Royal Palms Hotel. From arrival to departure we could not fault this hotel over 20 night stay all inclusive. Food was to die for especially the dahl and devilled chicken, hospitality was top notch. Thanks yo all the restaurant staff, chefs, kitchen workers, cleaners, reception staff, bar and pool staff, all were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much for them. A special thanks to our Mercury holiday rep Ananda, we booked 2 trips which we had an amazing time and a special thanks to the your guide and driver. We always read reviews about the hotel before we book and as a guide we check this out before we travel and we cannot see why there are a few negatives about this hotel. Anyone looking for an amazing hotel and a relaxing break please book this hotel as you will not be disappointed. Thank you Royal Palms we will be back soon.

Our stay was perfect in every way. it was the low season so it was very quiet, however this didn't affect the service in any way. Every member of staff always had a smile, and there was never anything they couldn't do for you. Our room attendant, Udayanga (I think how how his name was spelt) was a lovely guy. His passion for towel folding into animal shapes was almost as good as his passion for cricket. we had many chats about that as the T20 World Cup that was on at the time. The activities guys, Crishmal & Pauindu were great. Every day they came to see us by the pool to tempt us into the many games they had on offer. While you are there, try the Japanese restaurant, Hiroshan, Rohan & Binura will make your evening perfect. The food was lovely. while it was not in the "all inclusive" package the prices were very reasonable. Talking of food, the choice for all meals was very good, it may have been the low season, but there was still plenty to choose from. I enjoyed a curry most days!!!! the food and beverage team were lovely. service was good and I tried to race them to the door so that I could open it myself from time to time. Let us not forget the front desk staff, always helpful in every way. So thank you to Hansa, Tharindu and all of the other staff. To sum up, we hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. If someone tells you there is a railway line outside, they are right. however there are very few trains, none at night. Plus if you wave at the passengers who are hanging out of the carriage windows, they wave back!!! It was our 4th visit to Sri Lanka, we went there after I had been ill for 6 months. We are very satisfied with the service of captain Sanjeewa he was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is clean, the food is very good and the entire staff was very and took good care of us. We highly recommend the hotel and within it, the service and food.

Very nice hotel, good Pool. The staff (really everybody) is very friendly and try to help with everything. Breakfast was also good. Beach bar is also Nice for the evening. Thanks a lot to Tharindu from the receiption! Only the way to the real Beach is currently a bit bumpy. I would love to stay longier.

It has an been an amazing stay with delicious food and welcoming staff. Not to forget, Anjani who welcomed us graciously and explained about all amenities without leaving a doubt. Thank you for everything! We will visit again soon. Will Recommend others as well.

The hotel staff did an amazing job, and made me feel spezial. The food was always fresh and tasty, with a huge variety. You could choose from a big Buffet. I can recomend the Rice & Curry section. Same goes for the desserts, especially the cakes. Aditional Thanks to my fried: Duminda.

The staff is verry kind and forthcomming. The property needs maintanance the roof is leaking at spots. Electricity is not always available. The beache is gone, wahed away, dogs and cats wonder freely arrond and on the propperty. The entertainment music is not my cup of thee.

This was a stop off for a few days after visiting India. Immediately felt both relaxed and welcome. The rooms are period and comfortable with character as opposed to the square blocks of modern hotels. Great wifi throughout. The restaurant was amazing , catering for all tastes. All the staff seemed to enjoy being there and appeared pleased to help. If I could name drop all of them I would run out of space, so I will mention Sapuni and wish her and her 3 fellow cocktail makers good luck in their competition. Also a very big thank you to the pool team most of whom have been with the hotel since it opened
