Sitara Weligama - Luxury Villa with Out Door Pool

Had a wonderful 2 night stay. Staff here fantastic, breakfast excellent and accommodation was wonderful. Very comfortable beds, great sitting out by the pool area. Very close to the beach. A constant road and the old train noise, all of which is becomes gentle back ground noise. A beautiful property.

I stayed here with two my sons in May. Everything (comfort, location, interior, cleanliness, service) was great! But especially goood was stuff - friendly and helpful, polite and good trained. My expectations were exeeded and I keep very warm memories about this place

Sitara Villa is absolutely gorgeous!. It has that home away from home feeling. Spent a weekend here recently with my Family and had an amazing time. The lovely staff, tasty food and ambiance of the place all led to a wonderful experience. Will stay here again for certain!

We arrived at the villa which was breathtaking , the breeze in the entrance hall was what we needed, we were met by Dilane and the ladies with big smiles , they couldn’t do enough for us . They cooked the food that we had asked for which was delicious snd plenty of it . The bedrooms were all beautiful and well equipped. The beach was only a few minutes walk and was lovely . We really couldn’t fault this villa or the staff . We were only their for one night but would definitely stay again . The ladies even with the language barrier tried to do whatever we needed and we all laughed when using Google translate . We also could text Sandra who ran the villa who had perfect English and could speak to the ladies on our behalf .

Sitara is beautifully placed, just a two minute walk from the beach and on the backwater. My family and I spent a wonderful few days relaxing in the pool and eating the fantastic local cuisine, prepared and served by the courteous staff. The interiors are soft and luxurious, with soothing colour palettes that really just better the holiday vibe! 100% looking forward to being back here.

The villa run by an all female team was a perfect escape for the weekend. The attention to detail in this property gives you the luxury comfort in a warm and welcoming setting. Mornings by the pool overlooking the river and evening sunsets by the beach (short walk) made this an unforgettable trip for me and my family!

This villa is absolutely beautiful and extremely luxurious. We loved the pool and the views. The hosts are extremely helpful and easy to contact. The house staff were very kind and cooked us excellent meals. We would highly recommend this villa to all other travelers.

Het hotel is prachtig en het eten is lekker Grote, schone kamers en het zwembad is ook schoon. Ontbijt was elke ochtend iets anders en super lekker. Onze airco maakte een raar geluid en lekte water en er was dezelfde dag nog iemand om die te repareren. Personeel spreekt daarentegen matig Engels en communiceert slecht. De vrouwen staarden ons wat glazig aan en begrepen meestal niet wat we zeiden of bedoelden. Toen we binnen kwamen stonden ze ook met zijn vieren toe te kijken hoe we aankwamen, hoe we betaalden en naar de kamer liepen. Ze wilden per se een foto van mijn paspoort, ook al wees ik ze erop dat naam een document nummer toch voldoende moest zijn? En we moesten direct bij aankomst op dag 1 betalen. Ook had ik het gevoel dat ze me uitlachten toen ik vroeg wat er dan mis was met de airco. Ik voelde me nogal ongemakkelijk bij het contact met het personeel. Het gastenboek werd zonder vraag/enige context met een pen voor onze neus gelegd bij de laatste dag bij het ontbijt.

Somptueuse demeure digne d’un magazine de décoration… grand confort de literie/sanitaires et accueil extrêmement doux, gentil, aimable, souriant de plusieurs jeunes filles adorables (mais ne comprenant pas l’anglais …) et qui sont l’âme de cette villa au très petit nombre de chambres ! Petit déjeuner généreux, goûteux , préparé et servi avec soin et le sourire dans un espace de toute beauté ! Cet hébergement affiche 5 étoiles et nous avons payé 165 dollars/nuit… à ce prix là dans ce pays on attend l’excellence… l’architecture, la déco et un accueil aussi souriant soit-il ne suffisent pas ! Dès notre installation nous avons demandé de parler à un/e manager : elle n’a été joignable que par message what’sapp ou tel, nous n’avons pas pu la rencontrer. D’après elle il suffit de demander pour avoir… grosse erreur… il est fort désagréable d’avoir à réclamer des services qui normalement sont dus à ce niveau de prix : par exemple, pas de bouilloire ou de nécessaire pour faire du thé/cafe, pas de mouchoirs en papier, pas de dispositif anti moustique pourtant indispensable au bord d’une rivière. Pour d’autres « manques » rien à changer même en demandant : du personnel comprenant et s’exprimant en anglais, par exemple… aussi, cette demeure ne dispose d’aucun mobilier de type transat extérieur où se reposer au bord de la piscine et les chambres n’ont pas de réfrigérateur… tout cela fait beaucoup trop de « dommage » pour un hébergement prétendu 5 étoiles à ce prix !
