We visited Summer Lodge for Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. The positives were that the service was, as always, excellent and the restaurant coped well with my wife 's dairy free diet. The deserts were also very well made. There are unfortunately some negatives. The lamb was very tough and full of gristle. Not a good cut of meat. A view I know that was shared with other diners in the restaurant. The parsnips were also very undercooked and almost inedible. The other slight problem we had is that some of the tables are very close together and a loud party of 4 was positioned inches from us making conversation all but impossible. Very odd as the restaurant was far from full. It was also disappointing that the best tables in the conservatory, that overlook the very well kept garden, had been laid for afternoon tea and were not available for lunch guests. Disabled guest should also be aware that the hotel is not step free and there appeared to be no allocated disabled parking spaces. Parking was difficult. We have been visiting Summer for many years for special occasions. This was by far our most disappointing visit. It will no longer be at the top of our list. We sent the general manager an E-Mail sharing our concerns and we received a holding E-Mail saying that he would respond to us. He never did. Hence this review.

Just returned from a 3 day break . This is a lovely hotel with beautiful gardens in the pretty little village of Evershot. The hotel is immaculate with a nice lounge with a log burning fire and a cosy little bar with lots of charator. We ate once in the fine dining,once at their Acorn Inn a few hundred yards from the hotel and once in the conservatory restaurant all three were very good with the Inn being slight cheaper. We did not use the spa. We had a great break and the staff were all very friendly and professional .

We spent a couple of days at Summer Lodge earlier this week. It was our 6th visit and as always every aspect of our stay was wonderful. You can be guaranteed of a warm welcome from the reception staff. Our room was spotless and had one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. We ate in the hotel restaurant on one night - the other evening at the Acorn Inn (also owned by Red Carnation). The food and service in both was excellent. The spa in the hotel was a real plus and we enjoyed hours of total relaxation within it. What makes this hotel so different are the staff. The level of service and the clear commitment to ensuring your stay is as perfect as it could be is the stand out feature of Summer Lodge. Every time we encountered a member of staff they acknowledged us with a good morning, afternoon or evening. In addition they all were happy to talk to us on a personal level - a level of interaction with customers which makes this hotel really stand out. We would recommend a visit without hesitation - Summer Lodge is a first class hotel with first class staff and first class service.

Well what can I say?? My friend treated me to an overnight stay here for my 60th birthday and what a treat it was. It’s a beautiful place to visit and the staff here all go above and beyond to help. Special shout out to Justin and Charis in the dining rooms. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a delightful 3 course lunch and in the evening a more casual snack which was lovely too. Breakfast was plentiful too, continental and cooked, who could ask for more. I felt like Queen 🐝 while I was here and I would certainly love to go again sometime. The grounds here too are fabulous. The management should be proud of their staff, great ambassadors for this establishment. Keep up the good work, it’s a 60th birthday I will remember for the rest of my life ❤️

Service, quality and style feature at this Hotel. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel at home. The staff go that extra mile to make sure your stay is special. The rooms have everything, the beds are big and the pillows really are the fluffiest we have ever known. Dining is top notch whether its in the restaurant or at the bar. You can expect something just great whatever you order. When you speak to other guests you begin to realise that people come back again and again, that says it all. Without exception every member of the staff plays a part in making your stay memorable.

A wedding reception of dreams! From the moment we arrived for our initial meeting to plan our wedding reception lunch we were treated like royalty! Alex and Jack were wonderful and no request seemed too much. The chef put together the most incredible menu and the food was absolutely perfect. The day was just perfect and we couldn’t have asked for more. The table in the conservatory looked stunning and the drinks and canapé reception was wonderful. The meal itself was outstanding and both of our families were waxing lyrical about the whole afternoon. Everyone was so lovely, helpful and so kind and it just made our small, family only intimate wedding just perfect. Thank you to the whole team at Summer Lodge, it was just the best day ever!

My friend and I had the most wonderful experience staying at Summer Lodge for 3 nights. Came away feeling relaxed and recharged. Such a beautiful hotel and surroundings in the countryside. The service was outstanding and the staff where so attentive and friendly. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing. We would highly recommend staying here 5 * plus Dawn and Jill

Thank you for a wonderful lunchtime celebration of our father’s 85th birthday. Summer Lodge is clearly well managed and just ‘gets it right!’ The greeting was warm and welcoming, the food delicious and well presented and the service was slick and attentive, but not overbearing. Thank you so very much, you made our visit very personal and special.

Our second visit to Summer Lodge and it was as good as the first time. Lovely dog friendly room, great food and wine and really nice, efficient staff. If anything the dinner was better. The spa is small but I’m we had excellent neck, shoulder back massages.
