The staff at the Xianchuang Hotel were friendly, and one of them spoke some English. We had no problems checking in as foreigners. The room was clean and nice, although the toilet and shower doors were made of clear glass, so there was no bathroom privacy. The view and location were really disappointing, though. Our room looked out on a building that was under construction and another dilapidated building. Not pretty at all. And I mistakenly thought this hotel would be very close to West Street, but it's a 20-minute walk away. We ended up cutting our stay short and moving to a hotel with a more beautiful view. All in all, it's okay if you don't care about having great views.
