It was a family trip to the spa resort, and we booked one night with a lake view. The landscape was beautiful, but the guest rooms felt a bit old, showing signs of age. The toilet facilities were weak, and the refrigerator did not work properly, but apart from that there were no major issues during our stay.
The resort itself is quite large, so it’s easy to get lost while walking around—especially at night when the hallways become dark. It’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the directions. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, doing their best to communicate using a translation app.
Since the resort is located slightly away from the main city, calling a Didi taxi may take some time, which can make going out at night a bit difficult. However, the on-site restaurant offers a wide variety of reasonably priced dishes. The spa facilities were superb and very enjoyable. The outdoor swimming pool tasted salty—perhaps it’s seawater, though I’m not completely sure.
Breakfast was also satisfying, with American-style options available. Overall, the stay was pleasant. I’d be curious to try other rooms in the future, as some looked newly renovated with modern fixtures.
(+) thanks for the figs for welcoming presents!

ゲゲストOlder hotel, but still in pretty good condition. Nice quiet location. Breakfast OK. Must have the strongest coffee in China. Still, hotels providing toast without butter or margarine is a bit of a bugbear of mine, but a minor problem nonetheless. Shout out to the staff at this place who were all attentive, helpful and wonderfully pleasant. This hotel is about 1500m due South of the old town South Gate. To get to the hotel from the fast train station, take bus K01 (¥1) and get off at Datong Lu. Turn right for a hand made noodle restaurant at the intersection. Across the road is a popular McDonald's, and downstairs from that is a fully stocked supermarket. The 'san kong' sights start at the South Gate where you buy your thru ticke int. The temple and mansion are very interesting, and expect crowds. ¥7 for a Didi to the South Gate. The cemetery where 100k Kong people are buried is worth a look for the Confucius burial area. This area is only a 500m walk from the entrance. The whole wooded area is large, but you can skip the bus tour as they only stop at the main site anyway, and drive like Fangio through the rest. A slow three wheel open trike cost ¥10 back to the hotel
RReshma TThis hotel is in 云海湾海景LOFT度假公寓C3(青岛火车站金茂湾购物中心店)(Yunhaiwan Seaview Loft Holiday Apartment C3 (Qingdao Railway Station Jinmaowan Shopping Center). The reception is on the 3rd floor room 301 and out room was the the 11th floor. The loft is very basic, the bathroom has soap, shampoo and the water pressure with hot and cold works. There is a wash machine, no soaps for it though. There is a boiler for coffee but no utensils. I think since there is NO house keeping, the hotel should provide more toilet paper and tissues and towels, especially when staying almost week. The location is convenient, right across the street from the Jinmao Shopping mall with a big supermarket inside the mall one level below. The walk along thr ocean is very nice with lots of locals walking around taking pictures. So many restaurants nearby. And with DiDI App you can get around easily to do sightseeing. You get picked up right in front of the Apt.C3 building. All in all this place is good to stay at. And with Google translate we got by as English is not spoken.
GGevorgMThe homestay I recently stayed at had a few drawbacks. While the rooms were generally clean, I couldn't overlook the fact that they were outdated and in need of renovation. The old furniture and paint gave a less-than-pleasant overall impression. It's the kind of place where you're fine for a sleepover, but it's not somewhere you'd want to spend a lot of time in during the day.
P.S. The bathroom badly needs a door.
