そんな『2024年に行くべき山口市の桜名所巡り』をドーンとご紹介しちゃいます🌸

ニューヨーク・タイムズでは、毎年1月に旅行先として勧める世界各地の場所を選び発表しており、2024年は、「皆既日食の道」が見られる北米、オリンピックを控えた「パリ」に続き、3番目に日本の山口市が紹介されました🌸

「山口は『西の京都』と呼ばれています。

観光公害が少ないコンパクトシティである点や、現在令和の大改修中の「国宝　瑠璃光寺五重塔」、600年前から続く「山口祇園祭り」、美肌の湯で知られる「湯田温泉」、路地にあるコーヒーショップや飲食店などが紹介されています。

もちろん、「西の京都」をさらに美しく彩る「さくら」もぜひに見ていただきたいです🌸

山口市の素晴らしい桜を紹介していきましょう🌸

山口県では例年3月下旬～4月上旬に見頃を迎える桜。

去年は山口県の一の坂川の桜は、3月21日～3月25日に開花、3月28日～4月2日ごろに満開となりました🌸

その昔、市街地を流れる一の坂川を京都の鴨川に見立て、京都を模して街づくりされた山口。その一の坂川の両岸には、約200本のソメイヨシノが咲き誇り、昔ながらの風情を醸し出します。開花期間中の夜間はライトアップされ、昼間とはまた違う美しさです🌸

見どころ・イベント

2024年3月23日(土)から4月7日(日)にかけて、桜の開花時期に合わせた着物のイベント「着物deおさんぽ」が開催されます。歴史と文化が薫る大殿地域を、期間中に着物を着てまち歩きをすると、ドリンクサービスや料金割引などの特典を受けることができるとのこと。

また、ワークショップやカメラマンによる映えスポットでの撮影など、様々なイベントも開催されるそうです🌸

香山公園内には、日本三名塔の1つに数えられる国宝　瑠璃光寺五重塔があり、境内を囲む緑と広がる空の青さが調和し、特に桜の季節になるとソメイヨシノに彩られ、本当に美しい自然の姿がみられます🌸

夜のライトアップ時には、五重塔とともに桜も美しく浮かび上がります。

そして、この「国宝　瑠璃光寺五重塔」はニューヨークタイムズのも紹介されましたが、【令和の大改修】がおこなわれていて、約70年ぶりの檜皮葺屋根の全面葺き替え工事中なのです。工事期間は（2023年4月～2026年3月予定）ですが、公園内の出入りは可能です。

And this "National Treasure Rurikoji Five-storied Pagoda" was also introduced by the New York Times, but [major renovation of Reiwa] is being carried out, and the cypress bark roof is being completely replaced for the first time in about 70 years. The construction period is (scheduled for April 2023 ~ March 2026), but you can enter and exit the park.

夜桜・ライトアップを実施予定。五重塔のライトアップ 日没～22:00

特別夜間イベントとして、2024年3月31日まで、プロジェクションマッピングを期間限定で開催します。様々な文化を取り入れ山口を繁栄させた大内氏の思想や、山口に惹かれ来訪した歴史上の人物を彷彿とさせる映像を、カラフルな光のアートで表し、幻想的な空間を作ります。開催中のプログラム「大内文化 思想をめぐる道」も色鮮やかにライトアップします。

香山公園は桜や梅の名所としても知られ、五重塔をはじめとしたさまざまな史跡が点在しています。

長州藩13代藩主・毛利敬親が山口に居城を移して以降の、毛利家墓所や、幕末、薩長の藩士らが密談を重ねた「枕流亭」、美しい茶室「露山堂」など、維新ゆかりの地でもあり歴史散策もたのしめます。散策中、「うぐいす張りの石畳」で手をたたいたり足踏みしてみると、不思議なことに、うぐいすのような美しい音が返ってくるそうです。ぜひ、チャレンジしてみましょう🌸

370メートルの参道両側に咲き誇るのは約360本の「しだれ桜」と「ソメイヨシノ」。満開になると、それは見事なピンクのトンネルとなります。1825(文政8)年に初めて植栽された参道両側のしだれ桜は、補植、新植と受け継がれ、県内屈指の桜として知られることになりました。近隣はもとより、県外からも多くの花見客が訪れるお花見スポットです🌸

2024年4月7日(日)には「桜祭り」が開催されます。また、3月30日(土)にはライトアップイベント「徳佐しだれ桜ライトアップフェスタ」が開催されます🌸

湖畔を走る県道489号沿いに約600本の桜が咲き、ドライブはもちろんのこと、ウォーキングでも美しい桜を満喫できます。2024年3月20日(祝)から4月13日(土)には桜の開花にあわせて、4箇所の出入り口の桜がライトアップされます🌸

また、同湖畔のふれあいパーク大原湖では、湖畔に植えられた約1000本もの桜が咲き誇り、自然豊かなロケーションでのキャンプをはじめ、カヌーやバーベキューなどが楽しめます🌸キャンパーにとってはとても素敵なロケーションです🌸

森の癒やしを体感できる森林セラピー基地もあり、サクラを見ながら「整う」体験ができるテントサウナも常設されています

4月14日(日)に毎年恒例となった「桜ロードレース」が開催されます。桜吹雪の中を自転車で駆け抜けられます🌸

山口県を代表する観光地の一つである名橋・錦帯橋と周辺は、桜が織り成す景観が壮観です🌸

隣接する吉香公園内を含め、ソメイヨシノや八重桜などの約1500本の桜がこの一帯に咲き誇ります。

2024年3月下旬からは錦帯橋にライトアップ が始まり、桜の開花宣言日から4月上旬にかけては錦帯橋周辺の桜もライトアップされます🌸お花見には絶好の芝生の広場があり、夜桜見物も楽しむことができます🌸
