Clive, Ann and the staff could not be more helpful. From the booking process through to the goodbyes - they’re faultless. Whilst the place has been operational for many years it’s immaculately maintained and has a timeless quality that really appeals to discerning clients that don’t need anthracite grey at every turn. We chose to stay here rather than be based in an on park tented lodge. The plan worked we visited three reserves who all have very different offerings. Be sure to ask Clive or Ann to book you onto the Addo Elephant park and the must see Schotia Reserve well in advance to be sure of your place. Enjoy!

A place not be missed! Beautiful architecture, large bedrooms, a lot of open living rooms, 2 swimming pools,… The place exudes luxury and calm while managing to feel very homy, also thanks to the lovely owner and staff. Clive made sure we had the most wonderful stay and went the extra mile to accommodate us (booking restaurants and safaris). The location is great to go to Addo Elephant Park for a self-drive tour. We also booked the tour organized by Elephant House and had a great time. We will recommend this place to all our friends going to South Africa.

Staying here is a treat and the entire place is excellent in every way. Rooms are large and the location is ideal for Addo. The cottages are also great and the staff could not do enough for one during our stay. I could not rate this place high enough

Just returned from our latest & umpteenth visit to stay with Clive and his ‘family’. As always the welcome was with big smiles and huge hugs from everyone. There is absolutely nothing I can fault about the Elephant House because it is just ‘home from home’ and there’s nothing better when you are staying anywhere. My husband is now unfortunately not so mobile but that never presented a problem - there was a helping hand everywhere. Can 100% recommend for comfortable accommodation and welcoming, friendly, helpful proprietor & staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Elephant House. We stayed in one of the spacious stable cottages. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We had a good conversation with Graduate (one of the staffmembers), a very warm and cheerful person. The owner is also very friendly. The architecture and interior is truly beautiful. Recently returning to Addo and had the pleasure of staying at the Elephant House. As someone who was born and raised in the area, it was a wonderful experience to be back. The Elephant House is a luxurious and peaceful accommodation that offers a beautiful setting, tranquil environment, and a stunning view of the fever trees. The accommodation itself is top-notch, with luxurious amenities and comfortable rooms. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, and made our stay all the more enjoyable. What made the trip even more special was the great company we had while and Elephant House made it a very special occasion. The ambiance of the Elephant House made it a relaxing and peaceful environment to be in, and the best part of our trip. In conclusion, if you're looking for a place to unwind and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the Elephant House is worth it. With its beautiful setting, luxurious accommodation, and friendly staff, it offers the perfect blend of comfort and tranquillity. Highly recommended!

During our trip from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth we stayed at many guest houses and lodges. Elephant House was the best of them. It is at the northern area of Addo, only a few kilometers away from the main gate of the Elephant Park. The location is perfect, it is quiet, not far to the park, and a large Spar and Restaurants are not far away. We stayed in the colonial style house in a very large room which is actually more like a suite as it has a separate living area and a huge bathroom. The rooms and the whole house is beautiful. The house has multiple courtyard and two pools (the cottage area has a third pool, but we haven't been in that area). There are areas for relaxing in comfortable sofas and coffee table books everywhere. The breakfast was excellent and prepared us for a full day of game viewing in the park. We were greeted by a staff member called Graduate who explained everything in great detail and who was super friendly and helpful whenever we met him. The staff and service was amazing, they even had booked a table at a nearby restaurant for us before our arrival just in case we would like to eat somewhere. Overall, we regretted that we only stayed a single night and will return!

We arrived on a scorchingly hot day and were immediately offered a drink on the shady veranda. Thereafter there was a rush into the swimming pool to wash off the heat from our drive through the Addo Elephant Park, with several visits back to the pool throughout the afternoon. Our room was very comfortable with an annexe area for the children, an air conditioner and a spacious bathroom. The lodge itself is upmarket comfort and we absolutely love the a**osphere created by the venue and the fantastic staff. Nothing was too much and when my son was unwell they went out of their way to help. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and we look forward to visiting again.

My 11 yr old and myself stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Addo Elephant National Park. The accommodation was lovely with gardens and 2 pools. The decor is low key and rustic but cosy and comfortable. Breakfast is included but unfortunately other food offerings have been cut so we had to find alternatives for meals. Breakfast included cooked options, bread, fruit and cereaI. There was a small bar which offered limited drink options. We were directed to a local restaurant for dinner which we really enjoyed. It would have be great to have been able to have meals on site particularly after a long game drive. The staff had booked us a drive at Addo with their own guides which was really enjoyable. My daughter used the pool but found it quite dirty and uninviting. She really enjoyed the gardens, local bird life and Grace the dog! Overall a pleasant and enjoyable stay.
