ジャマイカ イン(The Jamaica Inn, Bodmin, Cornwall)

On arriving around 13.00 we got a table for food next to the fire, the table was not cleaned from previous diners, nor the two tables connected to ours. The sleep was not great as it was far too hot, even after turning the radiators off. The whole establishment was too hot. We ended up usinf the fan throughout the night. The food was good and the breakfast was lovely.

Recently spent two nights at the Inn. My wife and I found the accommodation excellent. The room was very clean and tidy and well equipped. We ate in the restaurant and found the cuisine of a high standard. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. We would definitely book again in this very charismatic and charming setting.

Lovely hotel. I wish i stayed here and spent more time. Instead of somewhere to stay for business trip. Cosy room and very clean, the views where lovely. I love the history of the place

The accommodation and hotel staff are fantastic, we have stayed here a few times and this part is always great. However, the table service part of the restaurant is getting worse on each visit. On our most recent visit, we were seated by an abrupt and disinterested member of staff on a table next to a door that went out to the smoking area. We did ask if we could sit elsewhere but were told we would be fine at this table, there were 3 other tables of diners in the very large restaurant. Her reluctance to move us probably had something to do with the fact that our table was surrounded by vacated tables which had not been cleared after their diners left. It took close to 30 minutes for our order to be taken by the non existent waiting staff. The food arrived reasonably quickly and was absolutely fine. We then again waited to order dessert but after 20 minutes of no visible staff, we gave up. We then had to search for someone to pay the bill. Next time we will eat in the bar area where you order food yourself, as this appeared to be quick and efficient. Breakfast service the following morning was the complete opposite with lovely, attentive and friendly staff. However, at £14.95 per person it is very poor value for money especially as their main breakfast is very small. We will return as we enjoy the accommodation and location but will consider different eating options

The shower was rubbish because the head was leaking and lacking pressure. No hair dryer which was really disappointing. Needed to be cleaned better. The staff were polite, the building itself is really cool and always had more coffee in the room for the following morning

Stayed here in September and decided to come back again this time for our 31st Wedding Anniversary. We stayed in room 39 Daphne du Maurier suite. Absolutely amazed by this room, extremely spacious with fantastic views. The bed alone is eight feet wide and so comfy.Stayed here for two nights this time. We dined in the restaurant both evenings. Food was amazing, staff service was A1. Abi in the restaurant went above and beyond to give us a special wedding anniversary evening.Throughly enjoyed our stay. Becki on reception is lovely and is a credit to Jamaica inn. We will definitely be retaining soon and hope you have some one eyed rebel rum in black cherry. Thank you for making us feel very welcome.

Everything about The Jamaica inn is a good experience from the lady at Check-Inn ( Lee) to the super room ( they even put up birthday balloons for my wife’s birthday) to the very happy bar staff, the whole place has”a**osphere”.just the one criticism, there should be a Maître D’ for the dining room as staff ( all young) tended to hang around the computer check in area chatting. TwiceI had to go and find someone for service. Next time I shall eat in the bar which seemed to be very successful. I did say “ next time”. I shall be back.

Perfect place to stay for business and a fantastic breakfast to boot !
