Tropical Sol

Almost 6 years since my husband and I stayed here and it was even better than we remembered, breakfast was always prepared and served fresh by a lovely young lady Manook (I apologise if I have spelt your name wrong). My daughter booked this for my birthday and I could not have wished for a better present. This was our 30th time staying in Portugal as it is our favourite destination. The weather was really bad for the full 5 days we were there, but even that did not spoil our holiday, we ate every night straight opposite the hotel at Fat Cats I must admit I ordered the same meal every night as it was delicious, but my husband had 4 different meals and enjoyed every one . We always tip for good service and when we tipped Manook and told her we were going home the next morning at 8am she opened the breakfast hall at 7.30 and cooked us a beautiful full english which we thought was above and beyond her job she is a real credit to this hotel. Hoping to return soon to this BRILLIANT hotel. MISS IT ALREADY.

went for 11 nights over christmas and New Year. Apartments were extremely large and well placed. Would of been nice to have had small welcome pack of washing up liquid, cloth scourer etc. rather than having to buy a full bottle of washing up liquid. Drinks in the bar were extremely reasonable pint of Guiness and somersby dark fruits was only 7 euros. Downside we could hear what sounded like the lift possible staff lift every time it was used we were in room 304 also the air con seemed to be on cold all the time and we could not change it. But to be fair we did not report it.

Cannot fault this hotel. Amazing front house staff from Paulo, Marissa and all the cleaning staff. The hotel has a great reputation as it proves by repeat guests coming back again and again. Apartments very well equipped with everything you will need for your stay. Microwave. 2 ring cooker, fridge, all crockery provided. Big walk in shower, towels replaced daily, and cleaned to a high standard. Flat screen TV with English Chanel’s. All rooms are pool facing. Pedro the pool/Maintenance guy very professional and always happy and keeps the area clean and tidy. There is a snack bar on site that serves amazing well priced food and drink. Natalia and Francisco go above and beyond to make sure you get great service, and always with a smile. Supermarket 5 mins walk, great bakery round the corner with baked fresh bread daily, and cakes to die for. Uber about €4-5 to the old town or a 20 min walk. Already booked for next year, very much our happy place. Well done Tropical Sol for keep giving us memories. See you next year. 5*

Fantastic hotel, lovely staff well equipped and great sized rooms with balcony with a table and 2 chairs, so have terrace with sunbeds also. Great choice of places to eat, mini markets on doorstep onside snack bar and club. Great choice for breakfast, not sure about other times as we were b&b Huge sun terrace with plenty of beds and parasols, big pool with separate area for kids. Staff are so friendly everywhere and greet you with an hello and a smile just passing through. I'm loving being here. We came as a move from ukino terrace as that place had as many cockroach"s as it did staff. I recommend tropical sol in a heartbeat and will definitely be coming again. Hotel service as it should be. Absolutely loved my stay at tropical sol had room 0012 with its own terrace which was right in front of the pool bar the staff Francisco Natália and francesco were amazing so friendly and made us feel very welcome the cleaners were brilliant lovely lovely people and did a fantastic job 😀 all the staff were lovely definitely be back in July 2025 can’t wait thank you tropical sol

We have recently returned from a family holiday - our experience of the hotel was ok - but will not be returning Positives Snack bar is lovely good selection of drinks The hotel is clean - however there are a selection of rooms by the poolside which are like beach huts - very small Staff are ok - some are friendly some don’t speak or smile The pool area is spacious and the pool area is lovely Location of the hotel is more towards the strip than the old town - you can walk into the old town (20mins) The hotel needs modernising - especially the rooms Negatives When I arrived with two young children - the room they offered me was right next to the bar - when we arrived there were 3 parties going on - which was extremely loud - I asked to be moved We arrived at the hotel at 11.30pm and the person on reception I found to be rude as he took a phone call whilst we were checking in - bearing in mind I had 2 children aged 8 and 5 Some of the rooms you can hear the main road - which is extremely noisy especially at the weekend Some rooms lead straight on the street Breakfast is ok - not worth the extra - very limited selection in choices - some morning they had run out of items Also whilst we were there a drunken teenager was on our sun beds that we reserved - we also walked up to Aldi one morning and there was a drunken teenager on the floor outside. Albufeira in my opinion now is catering more towards the younger generation and is becoming a second Ibiza - which is a shame as I came about 10 years ago and it was much more family oriented. There are some lovely restaurants around the old town and The Clay Oven - is amazing however unfortunately i will not be returning to Tropical Sol or Portugal.
