As a family we used to visit Bilkent Otel quite often, but most probably this was the last time. The Hotel used to be one of the best hotels in the city but unfortunately now it needs significant renovations. I am attaching some photos of the room we stayed in, I think a picture is worth a thousand words!
As their prices are almost equal to most of the 5 star hotels in the city, I think it isn't worth staying here anymore.

Terrible place for a wedding organization. I attended my friends wedding on 13th of July as the Best Man and i got stuck at the elevator with my friend just minutes away from the wedding starting. It took around 45 minutes to get out due to hotel not having a technical expert at their disposal. My suit and shirt was all wet and the experience was ruined, let alone the fact that i couldnt do my job as the best man. We got out thanks to bare hands efforts of the waiters. Terrible and old place run by very incompetent managers. We have not even received a formal apology from the hotel management. Do not advise at all.

The reception staff is very welcoming and friendly. Room was a very good size, and the bed was comfortable, however there was a strong smell from the toilet drainage. That prevented me from spending time in the room. The staff in the restaurant were not very friendly, the service was not great, although food was decent. Overall good for a very short stay. Oh and the lighting in the whole hotel is somehow dimmed and it gives you the feeling of quite a dull place!

The room was nicely designed with well appointed bathroom and good toiletries. Linen was good with sleep comfort. However there was no tea kettle or facility to make it. The air conditioning was in fixed mode and surprisingly there was no WiFi and the reception informed us that for that period it was not available in whole of the Ankara !!! Breakfast was good, both in quality and quantity of food.

Pros: - Location: Close to Bilkent University, Bilkent Odeon and Bilkent Concert Hall. - Bathroom amenities: Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap bar, cotton buds, shower cap, body lotion, tissues, hairdryer (but only 1100w). - Complimentary bottles of water each day. - Excellent in-room storage space with large in-room safe. - Amazing Sanitas Spa & Wellness centre location in hotel. Cons: - Avoid the hotel restaurant. Food was expensive and seafood did not taste fresh at all. Instead, take a 5min taxi (approx. 40TRY) to the “Bilkent Center” where there are many restaurants located in the “Bilkent Station” section. - Rooms need urgent upgrading. In-room WiFi is slow for 2023 (maximum speed reached was only 19Mbps), TV didn’t work, shower water temperate randomly went from freezing cold to boiling hot every minute, air conditioning was broken, mattress extremely uncomfortable, worn pillows and thin, fraying towels need to be renewed with urgency. - Breakfast hygiene needs major attention. Witnessing a manager move coffee beans from one side of the coffee machine to the other with his bare hands is not acceptable. Note that the orange juice is not really orange juice as I witnessed the same manager pouring cartons of orange juice and peach juice into the same dispenser. - With complete understanding and respect that Türkiye is not an english-speaking country, but I was surprised that at an international 5-star hotel, most staff I encountered spoke zero english.

My husband ordered non-smoking room. When he had arrived at midnight, hotel told him that they only have a smoking room which he did not accept. They offered him a deluxe room and made him pay the difference. Of course he could not argue on it, because it was midnight and because he had to sleep right away. Non smoking room is not a special request and YOU have to provide that room if you accepted reservation for it, otherwise you will have to upgrade for free. W requested the reimbursement and we will see where this goes. Don't waste your time here, just move your reservation to POINT hotel which is very close and gives 5 star service
