Outstanding host hotel for our family reunion with an awesome GM that I met upon my check-in. My entire family thoroughly enjoyed their stay and raved every day about the complimentary breakfast. The Oldham-Jackson Family had the pleasure of staying from July 4-July 8 with no complaints at all. The younger family members really enjoyed having the pool area and the other adults loved having the open lobby area with plenty of comfortable seating to have a place to gather so they could chit chat. The outside patio was cool and spacious as well, never had a problem finding a seat to eat or relax. Every staff person that we encountered... from the front desk personnel; to housekeeping; to kitchen staff--- an entire team of awesome folks that represented Home2 Suites very well. Everyone in my family enjoyed their HUGE rooms that included a kitchen area to store their extra snacks/groceries. The hotel location was perfect for everyone to explore, shop or visit other attractions that were nearby. I am so happy that we chose this hotel for our 2024 family reunion and we would certainly stay again if we visit in the future.
Prior to check in, I called this hotel and asked for my confirmation email. The lady on the phone was extremely rude, said she'll email it, and never emailed it. Great start. Checking into the hotel, the front desk never checked my ID, never confirmed my room type, never confirmed how many nights I am staying. She started having a phone conversation while having a check in, and only word she spoke to me was ”swipe your credit card”. I asked her what I am swiping for, and in a very condensing tone, she said ”um.. your room and tax??”. Thank you, if you're reading this, please be mindful and know that some places charge incidentals and I wanted to make sure I know what I am being charged for. I had to ask what the amount she was charging me. The entire time she looked very irritated and gave a condensing tone. The room itself is not great either. It has a odd smell walking in and the pillow smells like sweat.
We booked the 3.5 star Red Roof Inn after browsing through photos that made it seem updated and nice only to pull into a motel complex that was littered with cigarette butts and smelled of urine (so much for the “no smoking” sign. The room itself reeked of cigarette smoke as if someone had just chainsmoked in the room right before we got there. The pillows and comforter stank of smoke as well. Windows didn’t open, so we tried to air the place out as best we could. Photos are deceptive - looked nothing like the room we got. This is a 2 star hotel at best that needs ventilation and a good scrub.

I had to travel to this area from Florida for a funeral. I stayed two nights and the hotel was wonderful. The staff were helpful and the hotel room was bright, clean and spacious. The funeral did not start until some time after the normal check out time but I was allowed to extend my room for several hours so I didn't have to sit in my rental car outside of the church. There was a complimentary breakfast which was adequate. The hotel was exceptionally clean and modern and the per night rate was very reasonable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone with a need to stay in the Deale area.
OMG- what a disappointment! While the rooms are comfortable and clean there are few amenities in the actual facility. Only 2 of 4 floors have ice machines, there are NO soft drink vending machines ANYWHERE in any of the 3 buildings. There is no basic food or beverage of any kind to be had on the property so you have to dress to go to a local establishment or call a restaurant for delivery. I was told I could go to the CVS for what I need….really? I had to ask the front desk if there was a bar and told there was one in the other building. There is no hotel directory so I needed to ask about the gym location…it is in the other building also. How is one to know these facts when no info is provided on the website, at check-in or in the room. We would have stayed elsewhere had we known the basics were not available. It’s costly to stay here and the simplest of amenities are not offered. The front desk was apologetic, said others have also complained about the lack of vending machines ( yes, there is plenty of space for a Vending machine in the ice machine room). I was given 2 small bottles of the water to take to my room as the only water available is from the bathroom sink. I will never stay here again nor will I recommend Historic Inns of America Annapolis.
