After reading endless amount of the reviews, I have decided to book 2 nights stay at the Outpost, convinced by positive reviews of other travelers. And it was definitely worth it! From the moment of check in to the moment we checked out, everything went smoothly. My friend has never experienced safari before so she was impressed. Venue, its location, staff and their hospitality - everything is just perfect. The view of endless greenery is to day for, we never felt so close to the nature as during our stay at the outpost. However, I'd like to share some tips for those considering a trip to Outpost and Northern part of Kruger Park. We stayed there in January, which is a wet season so you might not see as many animals as during the dry season. Nevertheless, we were lucky enough to see some of them, but I guess a visit during dry season would be even more beneficial. Also, as the Outpost is located in a pristine area of Kruger national park, it took us 6.5 hours to get there from Johannesburg airport, which is not that bad if you are staying there for a longer time, but is quite challenging for a short stay that we did.
Considering that this was our last Family trip when all the children are still kids We wanted to do something special to remember in the future. The goal was to see our chosen spirit animals and to have unforgettable experiences. This was more than delivered by the Safaris and the Lodge. A trip that will live in memories for years to come. From the reception at the airport to the last goodbye we are so thankful for making dreams come true.
Outstanding..!!! This hotel is an oasis of calm. The facilities extensive and decor tasteful. Staff are all subtly attentive without being pushy. Porsha in the restaurant to Kabelo on reception both great examples. All are determined to make your stay memorable. Superb.!!
We stayed at Ukuthula Lodge for three nights and had a fantastic time. The team at the lodge were very friendly and kind, and Fabian went above and beyond to accommodate any requests we had, even on short notice. Their breakfast options like Eggs Benedict were a great surprise in such a location, and everything was cleaned to a very high standard. The dinners were a bit repetitive so if you are a foodie it might help to rent a car to access some other spots as you can't walk through the bush late at night!
It was a beautiful place the staff members we very friendly as well, our rooms were perfect, breakfast was good I recommend anyone to come and visit baby bush🥰, when we arrive we had some welcoming drinks, I would visit again its a very beautiful place.
Ssmackerel_suffolkWe stayed here after 15 days of self drive / self catering in the Kruger for a spot of relaxation. We used the family cottage which is situated near the main house and pool area. It suited us well for a family of 4 (teen/tween girls). The stairs in the cottage are not for the unsteady though! There is a small kitchen in the cottage, but not much in the way of crockery and utensils, but I’m sure the Lodge would accommodate any requests/needs if asked. There is a good size fridge and freezer. The downstairs twin room has a shower room, with the upstairs double having a bathroom with bath. We had a warm welcome from all the staff and enjoyed home cooked breakfasts and dinners. The food is lovely, with traditional South African dishes served. The Lodge is well organised and efficient, but homely and relaxing at the same time. We would recommend to others and stay again!
The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. I also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to major attractions. I am going back to explore the many attractions within the area's proximity. Oh, and the weather is always very :).
Magoebaskloof hotel is an absolute gem! We were treated to welcome dinks, snacks and an amazing bouquet of flowers in the room. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The hotel has a charming air of a bygone era with dramatic views over the indigenous forests. The trails in the forest allow one to be immersed in all that nature has to offer. Highly recomended!
