We were a bit worried after the recent reviews but needn’t have been. On arrival our daughter went straight to the pool. The family room was a good size and the hotel stored our ice packs in the freezer enabling our onward transit to the south. The atmosphere is laid back and a bit quirky. About a 20 minute east walk to the centre of Beaune. Breakfast was ok, a little chaotic, but we got what we needed. The kids play area was also a nice touch. We would definitely return.

We are just waiting to leave......I really don't want to go home! I thought I'd write this whilst sitting in the reception area waiting for out transfer to the airport before the holiday magic wears off. We arrived a week ago late at night all very hungry.......after a speedy check in and an upgrade from garden room to main hotel with Seaview! We went for some food......this hotel literally has food and drink available 24/7 Woke up the next morning to the most amazing sea view (please check out my photos) The rooms are huge, bed is huge, bathrooms huge and the walk in wardrobe huge huge huge! We are here in the wind down to the season so we knew that alot of the restaurants would be closed or closing but that hasn't stopped us eating.......so much food on offer in the main restaurant. Sometimes a little cold but we were always the last ones to arrive so to be expected really......(serious lack of butter for the other half for his bread) Pool area is lovely, a bit cold but refreshing when it got a bit hot, there was a heated outdoor pool which the kids loved. All the areas of the hotel are so clean and well maintained, constantly cleaning night and day.... ..spotless. Candyland was a massive extra bonus for the kids they loved it and the evening entertainment was absolutely brilliant. The only gripe I would have is they need a cocktail list in the main bar... they do make some bespoke cocktails but you never got 2 the same. Also the shop and water sports are so expensive. We paid £60 for an inflatable for the pool and just under £300 for 3 x 20min on the jetskis!!! Despite the very small negatives we would definitely would come back 🤩
I want to emphasize this particular feature because it’s not usual. I’ll tell you our sad circumstances but first: there is H parking right by the automatic doors to reception and our room was a straight shot from there. Our key card opened the door by electronic signal. Straight through there is a door to a grassy area. To the left of that a wide door to a huge « wet » room with roll in shower, lowered sink and toilet. Our room, 002, has a king bed, etc, and five feet away against the back wall a third person single bed that is made up as a sofa. There is a full length mirror by the bathroom door. Our booking, done months ago, was non refundable as of two days ago which was no problem as things were going well at that time: but when we arrived at our Irish ferry port we found out that we would arrive in Cherbourg five hours later than the expected Noon. Beaune is over 400 km! So we got here at 3am and thanks to the night attendant Manuel, we arranged by phone a special pickup of our key. He spoke English and reassured us that we would be okay. And we are. WARNING Do not use Garmin GPS but carry a map. GARMIN took us the regular route to the Paris périphérique to A6 WHICH IS CLOSED FOR A HUGE SECTION necessitating a jammed slip road use with trucks and Paris traffic and probably forty traffic lights. THEN we were guided to Orly airport and Garmin was totally off..you could see from the road signs that the nav system was faulty. AND the A6 southbound is closed and detoured from Autun to Beaune (maybe more, I’ll find out soon enough). Being 82 I’m going to have to upgrade my tech, it’s hard, international travel using a pricey ATT iPhone. After Ireland, I’d call this hotel a bargain in a very touristic, charming Burgundian town. That’s my story: you can see why I’m grateful for this wonderful accommodation.
Disappointed by this hotel. Booked and paid for a ”comfort” room but room (209) did not resemble the illustrations. It was only just big enough for the bed and furnishing identical to ”classic” photos. Curtains were not properly finished - surplus length was held up with safety pins). 2 small pillows plus a useless small cushion for each person on the bed. Bathroom extremely small and shower floor had no rim so the rest of the bathroom flooded almost immediately with standing water puddle all night. ”Trendy” black painted walls combined with lights that turn themselves off meant that corridor to the room was almost pitch dark until a switch could be found. The hotel is well located, breakfast was OK and the few staff we encountered were polite, but we won't be back.
Not good. The room was pleasant enough but hauling luggage up two flights of stairs (no elevator) is sub-optimal for a 75 year old. Then there's no shower...just a hand-held in the bath. Then breakfast ran out of things...croissants for example. And then our room didn't get serviced one day...and the staff were non-communicative to the point of being comatose. Would I stay there again? No.
