I needed somewhere to stay within walking distance of a venue in digbeth and of course on a tight budget. This hotel was a great price and the location I needed. Staff were really friendly and check-in/check out was very easy, reception is manned while the pub is open and a coded door gives access once the pub is shut. The bed I had was a bit uncomfortable I think it probably needs to be replaced but this is not a problem as most hotels I stay in the bed is a sprung mattress which is well passed it's sell by date. The other bed in the twin room was fine. Room and bathroom were very clean and the shower was powerful and hot. There's a little kettle with tea and coffee provided. A small convenience store is very close for snacks etc as the resturant was not open on the Friday we arrived or the Saturday but there is was a cooked breakfast on the Sunday morning which I didn't need to pre-book just turn up and order. I will definitely stay here again if the event I attended at the weekend goes ahead again in 2025.

There is so much to unpack here when it comes to Selina Birmingham. Never again am I staying at this hellhole of a hotel. For a name like Selina, the hotel sure is nightmarish to stay at. It's shameful that the hotel shares the same name with my non-biological/cosplay partner. There is no breakfast but at least, the bedding, the pillows and the duvet are comfy (but most likely due to the fact that I’m tired) and the wi-fi is decent. Unfortunately, this is where the compliments stop, especially when the dorm rooms are so dark, you have to turn on the flashlight on your phone in order to see. Not to mention, there is no television in the room I was staying in. To make matters worse, the dorm room is cold, coupled with no heating. I honestly don't mind the cold most of the time but the room temperature is too cold for my liking. Speaking of the ground floor, the Korean receptionist told me that I'm not allowed to eat my food at a table at the cafe and told me to climb the stairs all the way to the third floor in order to eat my food. It isn't fair, considering the receptionist with the short, dark hair tends to allow me to eat my food at a table at the cafe during the very early hours of the morning. I eventually lost my patience and yelled at the Korean receptionist. It's rare when I lose my patience. I threatened in a growly voice with, ”I suggest you fill the pot noodle to the top with water unless you want a scathing, negative review to be blasted on the radio for everyone to hear?”. Finally, she got the memo. The rooms, bathrooms and toilets and facilities are unsanitary (for example, there are biscuit crumbs all over the bed sheets. I didn't know until I got out of bed), the entire hotel itself is not accessibility-friendly as if the lack of a lift and the staff not being accommodating towards disabled people such as myself isn’t of any indication, the kitchen and the kitchen equipment on the third floor are dirty, there is no hot water in some of the bathrooms within the dorm rooms, the bathrooms and the dorm rooms are shared (therefore, there is no privacy), the lights keep turning themselves off if you’re idle (I’m more used to turning on and off the lights on my own accord), you need to pay £10 for a padlock which is complicated for disabled people and the list goes on. The toilets, bathrooms, kitchen etc are just as dirty as Badea Faulkner and Olive Allison Brown from the Avanzar House in Middleton, Manchester not cleaning up after themselves. And don’t get me started on the staff being problematic. They aren’t very useful to the point where I had to shout at them due to their language barriers and them not listening to me, let alone understanding me. This is troubling for autistic people like me. Never in all my years have I encountered such frustrating hotel staff members. Compared to the other hotels I've stayed at in the past, the hotel staff in these hotels were never infuriating. If a lack of staff doesn’t tell you the appalling

The budget IBIS is exactly that. But it’s functional and clean and somewhere to crash out for an evening. This would have had an excellent were it not for the comfort cooling system not working and the toilet fixtures falling off the wall (both reported to reception desk).
The location of the hotel was okay, good nearby links to the train station and attractions. There's no food or drink other than vending machines in the hotel but there is a Sainsbury's local opposite. Bed was comfy and the temperature of the room was controlled. TV was very small and in an awkward position to watch from laying in bed. No hand soap in the dispenser and there was also a leak from the toilet/sink area.
ゲゲストI stopped here one night with friends for my birthday. The hotel is easy to get to, and the location is excellent as it’s located on Broad Street, near Brindley Place which hosts a wide range of bars and pubs. So if you’re visiting Birmingham to have a drunken, night out or a special occasion then this hotel is perfect. There’s also parking on site behind the hotel which is very handy, unfortunately the car park isn’t discounted for guests stopping in the hotel. After waiting in a small queue, we attempted to check in at 14:30 (half hour earlier than check in ‘opens’) we were told the room wasn’t ready. Which wasn’t an issue as they had luggage storage available. We can back to check in at 16:00 and the queue was horrendous. I’ve never seen a queue as big as this to check in for a hotel before. We waited for 20 minutes until we checked in. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Although there were coffee cups left behind the curtains upon entry. The bathroom was very modern and had a walk in shower. The beds were unbelievably comfy and had plug sockets by the side of the bed which is a massive plus as not every hotel has this. Luckily, it was a quicker process checking out as you can just pop your keys in the ‘express checkout box’. Overall, a comfortable night stay in the heart of Birmingham, unfortunately the check in was horrific.
ゲゲストLocation of the hotel was excellent. Parking is £13 for the night on site. Room was clean. The aircon did not work and it’s was so got my partner almost fainted. I called up the manager who came along with the housekeeping. The housekeeping tried to say oh it’s motion sensored and you got to wait 30 minutes or so to come on. I’m standing there looking at her like say what again?! I explained to her nobody has time to wait around for the air con to come on for that long like tia 1994! Even the manager stood there who agreed it was hot. All our food had gone cold. And eventually 30 mins later they moved us to the room next door and from the word go it was so much cooler and the air con was working.. wait for it.. without anybody being there for the “motion a/c” to work. They didn’t do anything about the food that went cold, the inconvenience. Manager did offer to get us drinks but we don’t drink so pointless. He offered to reimburse £13 for parking again not worth it. Overall it was a poor experience but slightly made up for it when we moved room. This is not really the marriot experience and we made the mistake not to use the usual aloft hotel east side who are always 5/5!
匿匿名ユーザーIf you want to use the hot water, you need to turn on the boost button by the boiler 20 minutes before you want to use it. Apartment was great for 1-2 nights, but it was lacking in some facilities - the TV wasn't properly connected to the Internet so couldn't use iPlayer or Netflix on the TV. There was no baking tray or roasting tray to be able to use the oven. The grill pan was filthy. The cups had to all be washed again. The dishwasher worked great and so did the fridge/freezer. Nice amenities in terms of sofa, placemats, teapot. Only four teabags for two people for three days. Reception is not open on Saturday or Sunday. There is no one site, they do have books and dvds to borrow at reception, but no one is there at the weekend. It was in a great location. Would stay again. Lightbulbs needed changing in the bedroom in the lamps as they kept flickering. There was also a lightbulb that stopped working in the kitchen. Only one plastic cup given in bathroom. But absolutely perfect location for the price. Although, be warned the bedrooms are not sound proof, please bring earplugs as there is a lot of noise outdoors.
ゲゲストJust opposite New street station. Nice room on the Forth floor. The drafty windows let the room down. Didn’t get much sleep I could hear lots of noise from outside. Cold dining room , meal was ok, didn’t have breakfast.
