Property- overall the property is relaxing, don't go here for activities or nightlife. I wish they would give out map of the area, because the place is massive, it was hard to find the bars and pantry. This property is so far from downtown, uber/taxi rides will be costly. I wouldn't mind staying in the hotel if they had enough food/amenities/activites. Pools are abundant, great for families. There's a giant slide, kids love that. But there is no playground which is a bummer, given that their property is massive. Shuttle to the beach comes in every hour, but if you want a good umbrella-shaded spot, reserve a spot in the front desk for the earliest shuttle which is 11. The beach is rocky, there's a sudden dip. Food- does not feel like an all inclusive resort because it only has 2 restaurants, the buffet (which had good food but can be tiresome) and benihana style one. then for lunch, these are closed, and they only have the 1 in the beach and 1 poolside which offer very limited food options. Pantry is only in one tower, and towers are far apart. I wish they had one for every area, it was very inconvenient and it wasn't stocked all the time. Rooms- we loved the beds! very comfortable. we would love the shower & separate tub combo, but only a curtain separates it from the room, causing so much water on the floors. We had to control the tv with our phones, which is inconvenient. Massage- this is extra charge but it's worth it. Overall: 5/10, not be staying here again

The one good thing about Delta hotel by Marriott was the beach club. They provide a shuttle service to and from the beach where you can swim and watch humpbacks. The bar staff down at the beach club were amazing and the food was the best on the property, ask Manuel at the beach club for a spicy margarita, and Joe is the best server, they really made the hotel. I rate the hotel so poorly as the staff isn’t helpful, they don’t refill water in room or coffee and it is difficult to get a coffee or wine refill at the only restaurant. The buffet really is the only restaurant and they need to make that more clear. There is also a Japanese restaurant, which is good, but you can only go there once during your entire stay. The taco truck is great for dinner but you have to then go find somewhere to eat, luckily a bar is just down the path. Unfortunately I think the hotel is understaffed and they don’t have the amenities you would typically see at an all inclusive, especially when going to one because of an injury and need minimal walking and just want to relax and recover.

It's a private location in the forest beautiful at night. Service and food was great. Drinks were average. You're a long ways from town and activities, so taxis get expensive.

This was nice and secluded, great for a complete getaway. The food was ok, people were great. Spa was expensive but really nice.

I’ll start with the positive: beautiful hotel concept. Saying concept with the reason. Hotel is relatively new, based on decor and the main architecture Pools, pools, lazy river, hot tubs, all very nice, beautiful jungle resort, outside. Property grounds are well kept, but it comes with the price: leaf blower will blow your mind every morning & well into the day. The resort shows a serious need of maintenance. Staff is not attentive, more indifferent towards the guests, they work at their paste. We stayed in one of the villas. If you travel with family, lack of privacy in bathrooms: a curtain only (we had a half curtain only, I think there should be two) for shower/tub space. Not nice when you travel with kids and nobody has any privacy, toilet didn’t have anything to close the door at all, and I’m not talking about the locks. There are very small, micro size ants, I hope I didn’t pack any with me. Towels and bedding need better washing solutions! Food: a total disaster, I have no problem when buffet is smaller but quality of food is not good. Overcooked, stale. Buffet items don’t get replenished for 15 min at a time, constant shortage of plates. Eggs for breakfast are waiting in the line item, sometimes boiled eggs are available. There are 2 pantries available, most of the time, all messed up. There are no outside food choices. La Cruz is worth going to the beach club only. I wouldn’t suggest wandering in town.

Would have loved a few more dining options. The water was lukewarm, not hot, and didn’t stay warm to have a bath. Beautiful property. Felt like I was in the jungle! 🏝️

The "jungle type" resort was a nice change and a smaller resort too. Limited dining option (one ala-carte). Remote area with costly cab rides to get away from the resort for activities or dining out. Airport shuttle transport not provided. Costly cab. Lovely heated pools and lazy river. Great resort for families. Service and cleanliness up at the poolside snack bar is very poor. All staff that were indifferent. Personnel for the golf carts and beach shuttle were amazing. The leaf blower noise is most annoying at 7AM. Loved the Super Bowl outdoor party! Buffet food is not kept hot. Some barely warm. Nice variety. Also it was great to have the pantry items available. Bartenders all good except up at poolside. We had to change rooms because of crying infant and noisy guests nextdoor. Noise traveled through the adjoining door...may as well have been in the same room! Reception staff were very accommodating for us to get another room. Food and service at the beach are excellent.

This resort was an excellent place to vacation at. All of the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food choices and tastes were top shelf. The bed in our room was very comfortable. Our most usual waiter at the Media Luna snack bar Marcelo Montes was amazing. Not only was his service incredible he also went out of his way to ensure you felt like you were at home.

We liked the more laid back vibe of the resort. The food was decent and the staff was friendly and helpful. The shuttle to the beach area was easy to catch and on busier days they ran 2. The food at the beach was amazing as was the staff. We took the shuttle to the beach and walked to town for the weekend market. Arriving at the airport is a little different, just go straight outside after customs for your ride. We found Uber to be almost half as much a taxis. We would definitely stay here again.
