Lets start with the good points; this hotel was cheap and a 15 minute walk from the old town which was very convenient. However, the room was tiny and I'm pretty sure there was a boiler behind the mirror in our room (room 501) because there was the constant sound of running water. I was not able to sleep well because of that and the sound of the trams outside, despite buying some ear plugs. Furthermore, the room was super hot and the air con did not cool it down enough. We paid for the breakfast and there were some nice parts like the dips, cheese, and vegetables. But if we arrived for breakfast at around 9ish the fried eggs seemed like they had been sitting out for hours which I found a bit gross. We stayed here for 4 nights and I slept so badly for the duration that it almost ruined the holiday as I was so tired. If you can afford to stay elsewhere, do it.
Marriott upper-scale properties, such as their Autograph Collection &/or Tribute Portfolio brands, continue to miss the mark. Weak management seems to plague many of these properties & consistent delivery of Marriott's Bonvoy Program only exists in the minds of HQ Executives. The experience of Bonvoy Members is something quite different in reality, since members NEVER know what to expect until they check in. Just finished 12 nights in 6 different European Marriott brands in 3 countries & only 1 even bothered to acknowledge our lifetime elite membership status. Otherwise, we received the same treatment as a guest staying at a Marriott property for the 1st time. The Marmorosch is indeed a beautiful property -- or at least the exterior & lobby area are. The rooms themselves are more more like Fairfield Inn properties in the US. Basic to the extreme & poor housekeeping was evident throughout the property. Trash that littered the floor on arrival was still there 3 days later, as were the blood droplets on the bathroom floor, & one has to question what type of housekeeping would leave a bed in the condition of the one in the attached photos? Only 1 side of the huge hand-pull drapes worked & could be opened, so we called to ask that someone be sent to fix the other side. A pleasant gentleman promptly appeared to tell us that they could not fix the drapes because a separate company had to be scheduled to do the repair. We subsequently learned from an honest employee that the non-functioning drapes issue has plagued the property since opening & is well known to owner/management. The property was previously a bank so there is a bar in the lower level Vault area, which one would incorrectly assume to be a beautiful & sophisticated location for cocktails. Unfortunately, as you descend the stairs to the lower level the loud & pulsating disco music immediately lets you know that your expectations are incorrect. We looked in the door & decided to not even bother entering & returned to the beautiful Lobby for drinks, but left after 15 minutes when no one arrived at the bar to offer service, & others who were waiting when we arrived were still unserved when we departed. Breakfast was a manic mess since the room where it is served is not capable of meeting guest needs if the hotel is more than 75% occupied. Many of the food items that should be hot are cold & unappetizing. Never saw a breakfast menu on a table in the first 2 days of our stay, & only after asking about cooked-to-order items that were being served around us on the 3rd day, were we given a menu with several options that are, in fact, available for breakfast. Check-in was the biggest fiasco we have ever encountered at ANY Marriott property. A full 50 minutes to check-in with only 2 employees manning the 4-5 positions & the Bonvoy Member sign on the front desk was completely meaningless. What a pleasant stay we had! Upon arrival, Costin, who checked us in promptly, made us feel comfortable and very welcomed. He understands our special need for a fragrance-free room due to our sensitivity to scents/chemicals. We got one on the higher floor, clean, spacious and nicely-decorated and has a beautiful city view! It had everything we need. Will not hesitate to book this hotel again.
When i got there, I was told I was too early (fair enough, check-in is from 2 pm and i got there around 11.30) I had sort of anticipated this, so thought i would just kill some time at the skybar which supposedly has a great view - but much to my surprise, I was told the skybar was closed, only open for breakfast. Must be the biggest attraction of the hotel, and in their wisdom, they close it! So instead, I took a walk heading towards the parliament building which is preety close by. When i returned a while later, room was now ready but oh by the way, the lift doesnt work! So i now had to carry luggage up the fire exit staircase (room was on 4th floor). Very narrow and poorly lit, so if you have trouble walking - good luck. Just hope you dont meet somebody coming down - passing them will be a challenge :-) Reception said lift would be fixed in a day or two!! So i made it to the room and cannot really decide what to think of it. On the one hand, it was spotlessly clean and looked very new and modern but on the other hand: No coffee / tea, There was a minibar with some wine and soft drinks but no beer,No glasses to be found anywhere (so I guess, just drink the wine from the bottle),WiFi works but not very stable - keeps dropping out. At breakfast, the skybar was now open - 2 people in front of me for the coffee machine which was quite slow - turned out they were not guests - but the breakfast room staff!. When they finally had their coffee they went straigth out onto the open terrasse for a cigarette (very small outdoor terrase and the staff now occupied 1/3 of it) and started chatting quite loudly - so terrasse is just as much for the staff - not the guests only. And really - if staff of any kind of establishment wants to have a loud discussion, do so away from the guests!! Breakfast was very poor - quite frankly pathetic! - some dry toast bread, a little bit of cheese and some slices of what looked like ham/salami - nothing warm like e.g. eggs (of course the staff were busy out on the terrasse smoking and having a loud conversation). Definately not worth any money at all - instead head out for one of the many cafes very close by. The lobby has what looks like a bar, but all they sell is coffee. Big surprise to me when late afternoon after a long walk i came back, asked for a cold beer and was told they didnt have any!! You can have some wine from the minibar, but you cant have a beer anywhere. The day of departure i waited a little in the lobby for my taxi to the airport. Need to use a bathroom?? Too bad - just like the lift, out of order. This would be fixed ”in a day or 2” so clearly not a priority for this place. Wifi, although it did work in the room - no luck in the lobby - could not connect at all. The guy in the lobby was nice enough but most of the time you will find him outside, having a smoke. All in all, extremely dissapointed with this place. Wish i had gone back to Hello Hotel instead - breakfast much much better, you can

Ok, I've read the reviews of the quirky room at the top and that's what I stayed in. Firstly height is only going to be a problem if your dumb and are trying to pick fault as the room is at an angle where you can stand up straight or be retarded and squeeze into the corner. The room is a so called basic room which is crazy as the cleanliness is 100%. The staff are excellent and the breakfast is spot on with a full English or continental. What I liked which is maybe weird was the fact that the room walls are clean and not all marked up and dirty looking. There is a lift so no idea why people say there is not, this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in and I've been to Bucharest six times. I would take the negative reviews with a pinch of salt as there expectations are 7 stars Dubai.
This hotel is aesthetically beautiful, the rooms are decorated to a high standard with nothing to fault. Staff were helpful. Our only let down would be location is out of city centre a good 45 minute walk, or rely on Uber and the continental breakfast was a little underwhelming and lacked choice and variety. Coffee not served at breakfast is an extra charge which I’ve never found elsewhere during travels especially when there is no drink making facilities in the room. Beautiful hotel, location more suited for business not a city break and things like breakfast and drink making aren’t great. On a positive note the neighbours dog who visits the front door is lovely and friendly.

No complaints at all about this hotel - it does exactly what it says on the tin. Its in a good location for travellers - walking distance from the train station and right beside the city metro. Rooms are reasonable size, with shower, toilet, TV and hairdryer. Decor is nice and modern and the whole area is very clean. Check-in staff very friendly and spoke good English.
ゲゲストThe hotel is amazing. The staff were really helpful, Thank you so much Andrea for a warm welcome. Daniel was very helpful and really warm too with great sense of humour, we had 2 days to see best attractions nearby and he made sure we did this by explaining the Map and planning it.
Lots of breakfast varieties to choose from. The waiters were very kind, always ready to fill your water and get more coffees.
Cleaning ladies were lovely and helpful too, Service is excellent, I needed new pair of slipper because used the first for the health club and they got wet and they gave me another one for free.
The hotel is beautiful and has tasteful decor and the rooms are clean well maintained. Totally recommend staying in this hotel. Thank you so much for making our stay special , we definitely felt well looked after
ゲゲストHotel : On arrival the hotel looks impressive. Although the area leaves a lot to be desired. Very narrow side street with limited parking facilities for our rental. The Epoque is not up to the standard of European Relais & Châteaux. Rooms / suite was very basic and overlooking very dilapidated buildings. There was quite a whiff from the bathroom and it was very difficult to access toilet! Facilities: Very limited and we were not advised at check in about location of gym. Wifi was reasonable.. there were some drop outs during our stay. TV’s are average and no Netflix or alternative streaming services Limited charging for mobile devices Small lobby area and that’s it apart from the terrace and a dining area The bedroom linen has seen better days and there were holes in the bathrobes! This was very disappointing and we should not have experienced this in a 4/5 star hotel. Food: Breakfast was good but pricey Dinner very pricey and some options over priced given the size of portions! Drinks outrageously expensive for mediocre plonk. Given that Romania has some great wines they certainly are not available here. Staff: friendly… that said there was a complete mess up with the bill on check out. It was not resolved to my satisfaction, I was informed it would be corrected when the bank charges were checked! So advice would be to try to pay cash as much as possible! Will visit Romania again. However Epoque not on our list and for the reasons noted above will not return.
ゲゲストRestaurant staff very profesional, been welcomed every morning at the breakfast with smiley faces, Lots of food options at the breakfast buffet. Great romanian wines at decent prices. Top service at the restaurant. This hotel will be one of my priority when I come to visit Bucharest.
