This is a fantastic hotel ! Location , Quality of Rooms , Breakfast but above all else it's the Staff , at Reception, in the Dining Room and the people who clean and service the rooms ...all without exception ...superb. Friendly , efficient , eager to assist with all requests and always with a smile! They have made our holiday in Buenos Aires a great one and congratulations to NH Hotels for their staff selection and training processes. It's a winner and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Buenos Aires. Near to main shopping streets , a variety of restaurants and a short taxi ride away from all visitor attractions. Thank you NH Hotel Tango and your excellent staff.
Start with the location. It's on a pedestrian mall (your cab can't get you to the door, but it's not a far walk from the drop off point, and there is parking nearby if you have a car). The included breakfast is very good and efficient. The rooms are large and comfortable. The down local is great, the pedestrian mall means it's quiet, and there are many nearby restaurants for some GREAT steak and wine. Very close to subway stop (don't be afraid, it's easy) and bus (cheap). And the money system sounds weird and scary, but it's not. If you take cash out of the ATM you get the official rate, which is pretty cruddy. But if you BRING U.S. dollars or Euro ($100 bills in excellent condition get the highest rate) you get about double the official rate, which means everything you buy in cash is ”half price.” You walk down the pedestrian mall (Florida Street, right outside the door of the hotel) and you'll have lots of people saying ”cambio, cambio, cambio” ... change, change, change. You nod and agree, they'll walk you to an office around the corner somewhere, and you'll get the ”blue market” rate, the ”double the government market rate” ... It's very safe, nobody is blowing their reputation to rip you off for a few hundred bucks. You can even pay the Howard Johnson in cash, and they hint at that, to get your hotel half price. This works. The only downside of this hotel is they only have 2 elevators (12 stories) and one was broken half the time, so it can take a while to get up and down. Overall, good experience.
The hotel is very well located, nice basic breakfast and the rooms were basic but clean! The front desk was very helpful. Arel was especially helpful, our thanks to him. Online reservations were easy and pre-arrival requests were answered.

We just spent a week in Buenos Aires and this hotel was a pleasant surprise. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was terrific. The room was a bit small but still quite manageable. Bring slippers, as the tile floor in the room gets quite cold. I'd also recommend you bring a few coat hangars with you, the wire type you get from your dry cleaners that you don't mind leaving behind. There isn't a hairdryer in the room but you can get one from the front desk. You can also get an iron and ironing board from housekeeping if you need them. There is no U.S. type electrical outlet in the room but there is one European type. The included breakfast was adequate--pastries, cold cuts, dry cereal, cheese, coffee, tea, and fresh-squeezed orange juice. If you arrive early, the front desk will store your luggage for you until your room is ready. There are plenty of attractions within walking distance of the hotel, as well as excellent restaurants. Just a block away is a small, family-run place called Viejo Alsina that features excellent food at a very inexpensive price. The famous San Telmo Market is an easy half-,mile walk. For some reason Uber cannot pick you up or drop you off near the hotel. It's about a quarter-mile to the nearest pickup point. However, the car service (Talixo) we booked to and from the airport was allowed to pull up at the lobby door. That was $74 round trip. All in all, this hotel was perfect and the price was a bargain ($321 for the week). That may have been the winter rate, but winter is the best time to visit BA.
Nice location with very clean rooms, most the places that we wanted to visit. 10-20min walking distance, for longer trips we used Uber . But best part during our visit was the front desk staff, Zaria and Nestor was exceptionally nice and super professional. Zaire made sure that we have best possible experience during our visit in hotel and even giving us tips where to go and what to visit . Overall A++ Thank you .

JJuliuusOur stay was very comfortable, a nice room, more like an apartment and not a hotel, we were kindly left with everything for a pleasant stay, everything in the apartment is new and clean. The location is good, close to the obelisk and the center, there are many beautiful places where you can walk. Nearby there are several grocery stores, vegetable shops. There is a laundry room in the hotel building where you can wash your clothes. I wanted to stay there longer, we liked it, we felt at home 🌺
My first time to Argentina and my first hotel here could not have been better. Super super clean, well stocked (working hair dryer, microwave, cold fridge, HOT water, great A/C, comfy bed, lots of shelves and closet space) and super safe. The door into the hotel is locked and appears to be manned all the time. Large closet, lots of shelves, drawers & cabinets, and all the outlets work. It seems to be a mostly housing community with lots of small shops at the street level. I had one of the lower priced rooms and it still had a balcony. It was fun watching all the street life... There are so many trees... many parks close by... and this area seems super dog friendly. I am staying here again at the end of my trip to Patagonia. The staff are very responsive, and their English is definitely WAY better than my Spanish, so it is easy to communicate. I am not a bar-goer, so staying in a big chain-type hotel is not my style. When the sliding door is shut the street noise is not very loud, and at night very quiet. But being in a city, it's exactly what I suspected. One can hear a little bit of noise in the hallway, but only when the staff are cleaning in the early afternoon -- no more so than hotels in which I've stayed in the USA, however. I have heard no partying or loud guests. Taking a cab to downtown Buenos Aires was easy, and it seemed pretty close by. There are so many restaurants, cafes and shopping for necessities within a stone's throw that I was very happy here. :)
You see the hotel incredible on the internet, but the reality is different. It's an old building, which I understand, but the rooms are not amazing, the carpets in the corridors look really dirty, the service is not good at all. The maid was more eager to ask if she better not clean until the next day, you have cockroaches in the room, the shower is very small both at the top and the space. You think the elevator is going to come off and it's very small. The noise is extreme, you can hear everything that happens in the rooms, the Argentines who stay are really noisy, the doors slam shut, it smells bad inside the bedrooms. I asked about the air conditioning and the answer was that due to the current climate they don't turn it on, that they only use the heating if you're cold, I told them that I'm not cold but hot, but I can't use it, they don't have a machine, at least for coffee , breakfast is not included. Really pay a cost for something horrible, dirty and bad service.
SshawndaikiLocation, location, location.
Excellent Punto cafe across the road, a Western Union branch round the corner, police station 2-3 blocks down, lotsa grocery stores around you, walking distance to San Telmo market, location is Babel Studio’s greatest advantage.
The other thing about location would be Argentinian late night party culture, you may not get a good nights sleep.
Clean and spacious room, reliable AC, hot water and pressure, it ticks the boxes for what one would expect in a stay. The only improvement I would hope for is to adjust the shower head holder, I’m 6 ft and can reach it comfortably but for someone shorter it might be a stretch.
Also the monochrome design is modern and attractive but the white lighting makes the room feel harsh on the eyes. Warm lighting would do wonders for the space.
We did not have a smooth check in experience and was stranded outside for 15 min until another guest let us in as they were leaving. Would be good to receive check in info prior to the stay as the reception is not manned round the clock.
Overall a pleasant stay and highly recommend.
JJaime AlbertoPros: Location is good. Only half a block from the Avenida 19 de Julio. Next to the obelisk. Plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Jorge in the reception desk went out of his way to try to make us feel at home. He was very nice and professional with us. That is it for the pros!
On the cons: The hotel is old and not well taken care of. it is Dirty and we saw roaches in the lobby area and roaches and ants in the room. Bathroom faucet in my room had a water leak. Not recommended.
