Just a 5-minute drive from the Luis Muñoz Marín Airport in San Juan/Carolina, Puerto Rico, this hotel is a favorite. The friendliness of the staff and every single hotel employee is commendable. They really go out of their way to make you feel, not only at home but as if you were family. The restaurants are outstanding. Having their great breakfast buffet in an open restaurant facing the beach is a fantastic experience. The rooms are comfortable, and the views (if you get a room with a view or partial view) are breathtaking. It is undergoing a lot of renovations inside the main lobby area so it will be even prettier than it was before. The beach is fantastic!
Booked a suite and upon check in downgraded to a cheaper suite without telling us. Apparently our suite was not clean yet. At 8pm. We were comped dinner while we waited for the housekeeping which was ok. The club area of the suites was poorly or never stocked. Nice pool but no adult area or hours apparently. The hotel offers day passes to their pool which would explain the congestion. Beach area is a short walk and more peaceful. Food in all restaurants was ok. I needed to use pique often which they did have on request. I might stay again but won’t pay extra for the not so suite experience.
I am writing to request your assistance regarding a charge for my stay at Aire De Olive/Water Beach Club, originally booked from October 13th to October 17th, 2024. Unfortunately, I was forced to check out early due to unacceptable conditions in the room. On the morning of October 14th, I woke up and found both large and small baby roaches in my room. Concerned about my health and the cleanliness of the hotel, I immediately informed the front desk staff at 7:00 AM. I was told that the manager would not be available until around 11:00 AM, but they were unsure of the exact time. They advised me to write an email instead. I had a boat excursion scheduled for 11:00 AM, and due to the situation with the roaches, I didn’t want to risk any of them getting into my belongings. As a result, I decided to check out immediately and book another hotel. Although I emailed the manager as advised, I never received a response or call. I had to follow up twice by phone, and when I finally spoke with the manager, she was uncooperative and made the resolution process unnecessarily difficult. Due to the unacceptable conditions and the difficulty I encountered in resolving this matter, I am requesting a refund for the portion of my stay that I did not use, as I had to check out on October 14th. I have attached all relevant documentation, including my booking confirmation, check-out receipt, and email correspondence with the hotel. Thank you for your understanding and assistance in this matter. I look forward to your help in resolving this issue.
CClimber43575200046I was pretty happy with my stay at Nomada. Bed was comfortable (though they didn't give me the lower bunk I asked for). Room had AC. Decent privacy. Property is mostly clean. Not sure the kitchen is cleaned by staff on a daily basis or if they expect guests to do that. Dorms room cleanliness depends on who is staying there. Same with how respectful they are of the space. Bathrooms were clean. Kitchen had everything in terms of cookware and utensils. Fridge should be cleaned a bit more. Overall, no complaints on this. Excellent location. You're near the airport and it's a quick walk to the beach. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby. No noise even though you're right off a busy highway. I didn't use the pool that much but sat by it pretty regularly. Would be great to have more comfortable seating. Generally, there are no staff people around. I'd say the front desk is staffed 10% of the time. Staff is generally reachable by text. My sense is that they are more focused on running the bar/club than the hostel. I would recommend Nomada to friends but the rate was spendy. Top marks for having a hostel WhatsApp chat - great for getting ideas for what to do and meeting up with other guests.
