ダリエン ウォーターフロント イン(Darien Waterfront Inn)

This place is terrific. First off--the hosts are engaged and responsive, an essential to a good stay. Food is good and dietary restrictions are respected with GOOD food (try the Redneck Eggs Benedict...). Extra special--a fridge for keeping leftovers, drinks, or whatever else you travel with to snack on. It's close to everything. The rooms are stylish, comfortable, and private; great beds. There's a nice sitting area in the commons entry and I could have stayed on the back porch, looking out at the marsh, for days....go, I promise you will enjoy it. And we will definitely be back!

A group of friends from Georgia , Texas and Florida have been meeting in Darien for many years for the Florida/Georgia game. We began staying at the Darien Waterfront Inn the last 2 years and cannot say enough wonderful things about the hospitality shown by JoAnn and Dave. Our stay is always one of the highlights of my year. The breakfast, the rooms and the relaxing a**osphere are second to none! Thank you for taking care of me and my friends and we look forward to our return next year!

Darien Waterfront Inn was a surprising and marvelous find. I did not have a reservation, but they were able to accommodate me on short notice during the week. The bed was very comfortable, and I even found the pillows comfortable, which is rare for a fellow with cervical arthritis. The room was astonishingly quiet, even with the doors open to the screened porch. The view from the porch was so delightful, and the storm that came through so refreshing that I slept on one of the porch sofas one night. It seemed a shame to give up that nice bed, but the porch and storm just begged to be experienced up close. Breakfast was very nice, and JoAnn and her husband were delightful. BTW, it's a pleasant 3/4-mile walk into town.

We stopped at Darien Waterfront Inn on our trip between NC and FL. We were impressed with the reviews and thought the price was reasonable, so we took a chance. We were so pleased with everything about The Darien Waterfront In. that we stopped on our way back to NC a week later. The hosts are hospitable, but not intrusive. The Inn is fresh and clean, and the breakfasts were great. Sitting on the screened porch watching the birds and soaking in the peace was just what we needed. Highly recommend the Inn for exceptional value!

The B&B is nestled in a quiet gentrifying historic town, & in a neighborhood, that is a welcome sight for the weary traveler. The sparkly clean home was designed to be a B&B. Thus, there is a spacious open common area, and efficiently designed rooms, all providing individual & immediate access to the broad porches overlooking a vast Salt Marsh. Sitting on the porches, being wafted by the warm breeze off the marsh, while watching the sun set, was truly thereaputic! The welcoming Host was a marvel; gracious, informative, organized, and provided 1st class service. Yielding an all around excellent experience! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We are not especially great followers of B&Bs in general, but we fell in love with the Darien Waterfront Inn at our first visit years ago. Even though we only stop by once a year on our New York/Florida treks, Joanne and Dave always treat us as if we've come home again. The new location has expansive views of the Darien River and wetlands. From our shared balcony, we are able to see the commercial fishing boats arriving and departing Darien. Darien is a beautiful small town with trees laden with Spanish Moss and is itself quite scenic. On this trip we met several other couples and made friends over some cocktails on the shared upstairs balcony. One couple are avid bird watchers, and they were quite enthused about the number and variety of birds they saw at the nearby Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge. We met several other couples at breakfast in the mornings. If you want a nice relaxing respite (especially from I-95 travel), this is the perfect place for you. If you'd like to be treated as royalty after a day on the road then stay at the Darien Waterfront Inn and let JoAnn and David spoil you with their wonderful hospitality. They run a spotlessly clean and comfortable inn, JoAnn cooks up a delicious breakfast, and David can advise you on the best places to eat and to visit. And all you have to do is relax on their back porch while enjoying the beautiful view and the peaceful sounds of nature. It's a delightful place.

Always a pleasant place to stop on our way to FL. Great views, home a**osphere & delightful, friendly owners. Clean, comfy rooms & though I'm not a breakfast eater my husband is & always enjoys the food & friendly visit of everyone at the large dining table.

Everything was so beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The owner was an absolute delight! Met me on the front porch when I pulled up. The view from my room and the back porch was gorgeous. I was traveling alone and was made to feel comfortable and safe. And the breakfast! Delicious. I will be back.
