Melia Internacional Varadero

La estancia estuvo bien pero las instalaciones del hotel no estan al día, se nota bastante el uso. La variedad de la comida tampoco me sorprendió, recomiendo enormemente la parte The Level del hotel. Los servicios allí son mejores, más tranquilidad y comfort. El spa fue fantástico.

One of the best hotels in varadero

It was a wonderful time with the family and the children we love the beach and the entertainment staff was the best especially Felix we had the best time with him ❤ I recommend this resort tho all the people who are looking for a great time with the family

The hotel itself is beautiful, the grounds, the restaurants, public spaces and of course THE BEACH. Our room was nice, nothing special but exactly what we needed. Everything was kept immaculate and clean, the people taking care of the public areas and washrooms do an amazing job! Idania, Marielena and Noslen, especially, thank for you all your hard work! As everyone knows, the food to be had in Cuban resorts is not usually great and we don't go for the food so not much more to be said about that. Having travelled to Cuba for the better part of 30 years, what was shocking was how much (more) the local people are struggling...maybe since the pandemic? You can't help but feel for these beautiful people so always be kind, please :) All in all, it was a great week away and we would consider staying here again.

Great Resort! Best cold coffee at the Breezes bar served by Lenia. The al la carte restaurants are amazing except for the Japanese. Overall experience was great, definitely a 5 star, just one downfall was the nightly entertainment. Space bar was great for drinks and dancing!

Great resort. No complaints other than a bit lacking in quality nightly entertainment. The food at the a la carte restaurants was great, except the Japanese restaurant, where the main dish was chicken fried rice (no shrimp nor vegetables typically served at other resort Japanese restaurants). Great cold coffee and great service at the Breezes bar above the pool. Overall, a 5 star experience.

Firstly before I write the negatives I must point out that varadero is a beautiful place and don’t let that reflect on what I’m about too write. This hotel is currently a Spanish speaking hotel so that might help if you know a little as they do struggle with language barriers. ROOMS.!!! Staying at the Melia international hotel and omg whoever give this place a 5⭐️ rating clearly don’t note everything as I personally wouldn’t give 3⭐️. Firstly the rooms look very stylish but have tired furniture that’s all falling apart with Draws not on runners no more and the Laminate surface on top is all blistered and bubbled. When passing comment about this to a staff member I was told most rooms are like this !!!. Also the rooms have a distinct smell of must and damp in the rooms and things are not as clean as you’d expect. Fixtures and fitting in some rooms are not fitted correctly or non working like sockets and switches. The bath tubs have stains and chips and don’t feel safe when using the shower above. The room comes with a Fridge and tea and coffee making facilities which is supposed to be stocked daily with beer, cola, water and tea and coffee but apparently there is a shortage on these items at moment so your refreshments are non existent. The sheets are not changed that often as I noticed same stains were on them days later. RESTAURANTS!! Firstly this hotels main foods are meat and fish. Not really the best if you’re a vegetarian who loves a good salad. The hotel has numerous a la carte restaurants on site to choose from which do serve different meals from the buffet restaurant but unfortunately your allocated times are not at your choice as you are given a list of times and dates to attend your reservations by the hotel which I feel should be customers decision when and where they eat. The buffet restaurant is more like a free for all with limited space and not big enough to cater for hotel’s capacity. Food hasn’t got its own designated serving implements for each dish so most are cross contaminated with other foods Like cheese tongs used for meat products. I’ve currently seen chefs wiping the sweat off their heads on their sleeves. Also be wary to check your salt and pepper dispensers on the table as the salt gets quite damp with the humidity which then blocks the holes. Upon removing the lid on mine I was shocked to see the glass gar and lid were rusty and yellow. Also be cautious as I noticed they get quite a few flies landing on uncovered food in most restaurants. FOOD QUALITY!!! Now let’s get to the food issues or should I say LACK OF IT?. The food is of very basic with poor quality and availability. Some examples are as follows. 1 ) snack bar pizza and hotdogs available 40% of day and quality poor and when they run out there no notice informing customers. 2) sandwiches consist of mince / cheese / ham / chorizo / chicken on dry bun. Bars around the hotel running out of the simplest drinks like beer or wine and simple jui

The hotel is great and the people there is very plesant and always very helpful. We were with the "The Level" service and the only thing that we think that wasn't completely great is the access to the pool. With this service you have access to a certain zone of pool and chairs/beds. The most part of the times they were already being ocupied by people that only have the normal service.

HORRENDOUS ! we have 9 more nights here and it’s not great. The rooms were advertised to have minibar, tea and coffee facilities. These are none existent. It’s our honeymoon and there was nothing special provided by the hotel. We would have liked the option to choose A la Carte restaurants but the hotel book them in advance for you and at a time to suit them with no option to change. The buffet restaurant is worse than a school canteen and smells terrible. There’s no wine in the hotel unless you say you’ll pay extra. Everything has do to be done on the hotels app but half the time the internet isn’t working. We are in room 5101 and the room is clean with a comfy large bed with a great view of the beach and pool but that’s the only decent thing about it. We have been to Cuba before and this is the worst hotel. We are so disappointed
