Views for miles! Loved the location of the Hotel. Service was incredible. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent and plentiful. Good choices even in the buffet restaurant. Good a**osphere on DJ night with everyone up dancing. Overall an excellent stay.

Following my recent disapointed reveiw of the food at the Domes Aulus being unable to edit my previous post I have found a picture of the lovely processed hamburger my partner was given in which you can judge if this is acceptable for any human consumption.

What a fabulous Hotel in the most stunning location. Views are stunning. I was lucky to have a view of Spinalonga from my room. The staff here cannot do enough for you. Always so welcoming and friendly. I had a relaxing massage in the spa which was incredible. Overall an amazing holiday

This is an exceptional 5 star hotel, the rooms and arrival check in were fantastic, wonderful view of Elounda from anywhere around and in the property. Food was authentic, delicious and of great quality, excellent spa and indoor pool, brilliant staff, lovely walks around the area of Elounda.

Our stay at Domes Aulus Elounda began amidst unfavorable weather conditions, yet the hospitality we received from the staff surpassed all expectations. From George, the Rooms Division Manager, always wearing a smile and ready to resolve any issue, to the reception team, despite their heavy workload, being eager to assist, and the team at the golf cars, to Andreas at the bar and Christina at Levante, it was an unforgettable experience! However, there were some drawbacks such as the poor quality of food at Island, the reservation system glitches, and the cleanliness issues in the Levante area that need attention.

This is a beautiful hotel but run very badly. 2 hour transfer from airport Room on such a steep hill you can only access if you can get a lift up there - good luck with that one! Don't bother booking cool living as we were told everyone was getting an upgrade! Don't expect your room to be like you imagine and dont expect to receive water in your room after the first night if you do order room service dirty plates will be left outside you room for at least 2 days. Try to avoid the 7th floor as you might be awaken earlier then you expected with the fire alarm going off and no one caring because it is a issue they need a part for and will fix when they can - It happened twice when we were there ! God knows what would have happened if there was a real fire! Book you dinner reservations as far in advance as you can or it will be fully booked and you will have to eat in the Island restaurant! - The breakfast is self service but that does not mean the restaurant manager will move you to another table whilst you are getting your food ! On the subject of this restaurant manager who runs the Cool Living restaurant at the top of the hill make sure you arrive within 15 minutes of your booking or someone else will take you table and I would recommend you check you timings too! We booked for 7.30 but was told we booked in for 7.00pm! I was so glad to leave although I was more stressed then when I arrived. Lots of guests were all saying the same thing On a positive note if you do go and are sunbathing in the cool living section check out Nino the lifeguard - he was the nicest member of staff and new how to treat guests

Upon our arrival at Domes Aulus Elounda, our initial impression was less than favorable. We encountered a few hiccups, including cold food at the restaurant and difficulties in securing dining reservations without the assistance of the staff. Additionally, the jacuzzi room we had booked, although brand new, felt surprisingly small for its category. However, our experience took a positive turn thanks to the intervention of the rooms manager, George, who we found to be a beloved figure. After discussing our concerns, George promptly addressed them by arranging a room change the following day. He not only assisted us with our dining reservations but also made a point to personally check on us regularly, inquiring if we needed anything. This level of attention wasn’t exclusive to us, we noticed he extended the same care to other guests, showcasing his dedication to visitor satisfaction. We are grateful for George’s attentiveness and the way he ensured our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. It’s the people like him that transform an ordinary stay into a memorable experience. Overall, we had a fab, relaxing holiday. Hotel location is great with fantastic views. Built into a very steep hill with rooms, bars and restaurants on multiple levels. Wouldn’t suit anyone with even the slightest of mobility issues. We opted for a Zen Suite/Cool Living. These rooms are much higher up and have access to the top pool, bar and restaurant. You are at the mercy of the availability of the shuttle bus and golf buggies to get up from/down to Reception but we didn’t ever have to wait too long. The jacuzzi bath on the balcony we used once. Definitely more “corner bath” than hot tub. The pools were all freezing so I wouldn’t bother with a pool room unless you’re there in the height of summer. Staff were great. Made to feel very welcome by everyone. Special mention to Efi (restaurant) and Andreas (bar). We went in the first week of the season. A few teething problems, particularly relating to the service in the main buffet restaurant; waiting for a table, food not being hot enough (albeit always tasty) and just a general sense of not being that well-coordinated at times. There could have been more information provided in the welcome pack on the options for the a la carte restaurants and excursions out on by the hotel but the front desk/concierge were always happy to provide more info if asked. The hotel is about 25 mins walk from the main drag in Elounda (€8 in a taxi) and 40 mins walk from the small fishing village of Plaka (€10 in a taxi) for a bit of a change. There was very little entertainment put on in the hotel although the main bar was very sociable to catch-up with new friends.
