Most times you walk into a hotel as a guest, but here I was greeted as family. My original plan was to stay for two nights, but I ended up staying for five, as I felt so at home and fell in love with Essaouira. My room was comfortable, the view was stunning, breakfasts were terrific, and I was even invited to have a tagine prepared by the cook. The Riad staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating - they booked me a hamam and Redoine even accompanied me to some of his favorite shops for clothes and spices. Do yourselves a favor and stay at the Kafila in Essaouira.

Fabulous stay! Gorgeous views of the ocean and I strongly suggest requesting a room that faces the Atlantic - you will not be disappointed. Teh bedroom and roof top views are incredible! The hotel manager, Ronone (spelling?) was AMAZING - he makes the stay. A very lovely gentleman whose whole mission is to make his guests happy and he accomplishes it easily. It's a very clean and basic hotel as opposed to a large luxury spa hotel outside of the medina, but if you want a wonderful Moroccan experience within the Medina, do not miss this property.

A wonderful Moroccan Riad on the foot of the Medina facing the Atlantic Ocean. Wonderful location with lovely Moroccan decor. The rooms are basic and small, but the property is lovely and the hotel manager, Ronone (spelling??), will make your stay incredible.

I was there to enjoy Essaouira and I did. The surfing, shops, food. Riad Kafila was amazing! Great staff, sooo comfortable, clean, great location. Nice breakfast. I loved it there.

Super comfortable, amazing breakfast excellent location and friendly staff

We sadly stayed here only for 1 night. Wish we could spend more time in the lovely town of Essaouira and in Riad Kafila. The team of the riad made us feel extremely welcome and right at home. They were super nice and helpful. Our room (no 3) overlooking the Atlantic Ocean had one of the best views ever. It was amazing to wake up and watch the huge ocean waves crashing on the rocks. Breakfast was plentiful, tasty and very generous, we didn't need lunch that day! Location is also good, very close to the city walls, great for sunset. Some lovely restaurants in close vicinity and of course shopping.

We stayed one night, but two days - we were accommodated with early checkin and very late checkout where we could safely store our bags to continue exploring the city. We had the ocean view room, and it was the best view of the ocean we experienced throughout the entire city. The bathroom was very clean, again with a beautiful view (best view I've EVER had sitting on a toilet). Unless we didn't find it in our room, we didn't have a safe - however we did not feel unsafe leaving any of our possessions in the room as the staff were very welcoming and genuine. Breakfast was unparalleled by any other riad we stayed at, and the terrace view was breathtaking.

We had a fantastic stay at the Riad Kafila! The views from the room and the roof terrace do not disappoint. They really are as good as the pictures! Also the sound of the crashing ocean waves was the most peaceful sound for falling asleep or just relaxing. The breakfasts are super, the staff - especially Ridwan - was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the location is tops. Most highly recommend!
