ホラムーア ファーム B&B(Hollamoor Farm)

Delightfully situated within easy reach of Exmoor and the north Devon coast. Our accommodation was very comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent. Nikki the housekeeper was very helpful. Unfortunately Caroline and George were away when we visited but we hope to meet them on our next visit.

Great place to stay in north Devon. I visited with my son and stayed 2 nights. The house is on an estate where Caroline breeds Muscovy ducks and George cooks a lovely breakfast with fresh eggs (the creamiest egg whites ever). The rooms are beautiful and the bathroom is en-suite and up to date. Caroline and George made us feel totally welcome and greeted us with a cup of tea and a nice chat in the kitchen on our arrival. Fantastic way to get away from city life for a little while.

The lovely thing is, as you arrive at the house, you see ducks waddling over the lawn, white doves sitting on the roof tops and endless song birds eating from the bird feeders. My husband said “This feels like France”. Truly peaceful and welcoming. A great retreat for a mini break. Very warm hosts. Breakfast was delicious and we were allowed to keep anything extra in their fridges (we are both gluten-free and vegetarians). Our visit to Clovelly was so memorable. Rosemoor is equally sensational, the RHS garden and so close by. We’re coming back! Probably the best bnb we have ever stayed in.

We had only a night in this place to extend our holiday in Devon as our original host wasn't able to do that but I'm so glad we ended up there. Lovely farm house full of character. I particularly enjoyed the photos and art work and wonderful view of the garden in our room. The beds are very comfortable and bedding is just so soft. I absolutely loved the fact that there was no telly in the room and we could enjoy each others company especially at the breakfast table socializing with other guests. George and his lovely wife Caroline were very welcoming and engaging with us and our children. She made them very excited by bringing her little pony to the kitchen. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who appreciate simple pleasures and love to slow down a bit.

For a first-time guest like me, my stay in Hollamoor was a remarkable one. The owner was very sweet and accommodating from the moment I booked a room up to the day I arrived in the place. I really enjoyed my stay and will surely come back, this time, with my family.

I wanted a break from office life and couldn't have chosen a nicer place. This part of Devon is fabulous. So close to the beaches and moors and Caroline and George made me feel so welcome. I had a charming room and just loved being totally immersed in such a beautiful country setting. So relaxing. I can't wait to come down again. Fabulous breakfast too. Thank you both so much. I shall spread the word to all my friends.

Myself and a friend came with our horses and had the best time. We are still smiling now . The hosts couldn’t have been more helpful, a gorgeous breakfast, told is about the best rides. The whole place has the most lovely feel to it . We can’t wait to come back :-) booked already .

Just as good as our previous stay. Friendly charming and relaxing. We were very comfortable in the room with ensuite that we had in the barn conversion. The locality to Exmoor, Saunton Sands and Braunton Burrows beaches makes this an ideal stay, especially if you want to bring your dogs and horses with you. Caroline and George could not have been more welcoming or friendly. Good breakfast options to start the day.

As seasoned travelers, this location was far from special and did not live up to the website hype or many guest reviews we read before booking. The hosts were absent when we arrived and could not be reached during our three hour stay. When we eventually found our room, which looked like it leapt off the pages of an early 1900's travel magazine, the heating was off, it was damp, and smelled musty. We managed to get the heating working but it promptly shut off again at 8pm with no way to restart it that we could find. The heater in the bathroom did not work at all. The soap in the shower and on the bathroom sink were used and no new soap could be found in the room. The towels did not appear to be clean, so we called the hosts' telephone number but were directed straight to email. We left a voice message but did not get a call back. There were large spiders resident in the shower which although easy enough to clear out, kind of says it all as far as room servicing at this B&B. By 9pm, we'd had enough and booked into a local Travelodge for the night which was a much more comfortable location. We do not recommend Hollamoor Farm under any circumstances. PS - Most of the local restaurants recommended by the hosts are closed on Monday & Tuesday. Your best bet would be to look for a place in Barnstaple but call ahead first to make sure they are open. Pubs are usually open but often do not serve food on Monday & Tuesday.
