Our stay at La Pirogue Hotel for 5 days exceeded all our expectations. Thank you first of all to Mansi for all your help with all our questions, restaurant reservations etc via email, you were incredibly helpful. Upon arrival at La Pirogue we were welcomed by lovely, smiling staff and our luggage quickly taken from us. Sandy, who is so kind and helpful gave us a refreshing welcome drink and tour of the hotel with all the information we needed. We were shown to a beautiful thatched cottage set amongst palm trees, the bungalows are in an idyllic setting, not too close to each other with a lovely seating area outside on your own patio. They have white walled interiors with lovely wall hangings, and beautiful lamps and pictures by Mauritian artists, very stylishly decorated with everything you require. We had a minor issue with the aircon at our bungalow but this was very quickly rectified by Julien, the amazing front of house manager, who dealt with the situation in a very efficient manor and moved us to another equally beautiful bungalow, even personally accompanying us to the new bungalow to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Thank you so much Julien, you are a true professional. Thank you also to the lovely staff who also cleaned and made up our bungalows, they were immaculate and we really appreciated this. The food at La Pirogue is fantastic. Most mornings we had breakfast at the Wolmar restaurant, which never felt crowded, we were always warmly welcomed and greeted by the staff. We tended to eat in the same area each morning and was served by Anuj who told us he was on a training course. A delightful, polite and always helpful young man who I am sure will go a long way. We also had breakfast in our room on two occasions, the breakfast was delicious, fresh fruit, croissants, bread, ham, cheese and perfectly piping hot coffee. Thank you to those who prepared and delivered it so efficiently In the evenings we ate at the Wolmer restaurant, the food was always delicious and beautifully presented. Thank you also to Dya who was also so lovely and kind, always ensuring I had ice for my wine and providing it even before I had asked, really appreciated this high level of service. We were also very fortunate to eat at the amazing Magenta Restaurant on two occasions. The staff there are so lovely and the setting is so beautiful. For our first meal we shared a sea food platter which was truly out of this world, we were so glad we took the advice of not having a starter. An amazing meal. We were both celebrating our 60th birthdays in Mauritius and were invited to have a fantastic meal at the Magenta Restaurant. The food and wine were superb, Michelin star standard, compliments to all the chefs and for the excellent service, also the beautiful table decoration. We were also surprised with two gorgeous birthday cakes. We were treated like Royalty, thank you all so much. We ate a few lunch times at the Beach Bar where aga
