We spent the night here in the "Apartment", what a great room this is, 2 bedrooms, living area and kitchen, absolutely perfect little retreat for a group or family. Hotel is really nice and everybody who worked there was so friendly, special shout outs goes to the night porter and the breakfast staff, lovely. Breakfast was excellent, I would say that 1/2 a mushroom is a little bit tight and would of be nice to get a little more, but the quality of the breakfast was outstanding. I will definitely stay here again when I am in the area and recommend the hotel

Another great stay - very friendly atmosphere and family feel to the place. As another reviewer has written it feels like you're staying in a home rather than a hotel. We stayed in the apartment which has two bedrooms perfect for the kids going to bed early and having somewhere to sit up rather than all squeezed into one hotel room. 10/10 would recommend and will be back!

In my opinion it is overpriced,£220 for 2 nights in a twin room is high…especially when the wardrobe doesn’t have a handle ,the throw on my bed was torn and one of the cups was cracked…but most importantly my son is wheelchair bound and there is no disabled access at the front,we had to go all the way round the building to get to a ramp to get into the building,obviously we had to do this several times during our stay…that is definitely not worth the money they are asking..but the good thing is the family party was fantastic…

We arrived at the hotel and thought it had a lovely feeling of being in a house rather than a hotel .we had booked a meal but were tired so they changed the time for a little later . The room was lovely , clean with a new bathroom .Bed was comfy and we couldnt hear much noise apart from creking floorboards which was to be expected in an old property . There were lots of personal touches like tissues on the beside table and bottles of water . We ordered the 2 course rump steak and. Belly pork which was delicious. Mine came with french fries and i would have prefered some veg and new potatos but i didnt ask so my fault .my partners belly pork was lovely . I had the french onion soup for starter and realy enjoyed and partner had the pate . We relaxed in the bar area with a coupe of drinks and the bill was very reasonable .prices on bar same as puc prices . We visit this area a lot to see family and would definately stay her again . Would be nice to sit on the garden in the warmer weather

Parking easy. Arrival reception very welcoming. We got upgraded 2 bedroom apartment with on sweet bathrooms. Kitchen and maybe other parts of the apartment upgrade needed. Quiet and slept well. Breakfast kippers cooked dry, our table got not toast, other tables did. As WIFI did not get as far as our room, one did go downstairs to download. before going to meetings. I walked in from the reception to the sitting area. I was confronted and I asked: ‘if it was ok to sit there and download as WIFI problem’! She told me I can sit there but she will start shortly hoovering??? I asked: ‘Where do you want me to go?’ She kept repeating same. Confused I sat down and she kept coming in and out but not hoovering. I moved to the reception as there was 2 seats and cleaner followed there as well: ‘So you found sitting area.’ I was running out of time before going away my meetings. As reception, telephone rang and cleaner answered, people coming and going. I could not finish 15 minute task. Still not Hoover running? If business travel one needs WIFI limited peace. Dinner good and service good. Last morning my salmon and scrambled egg had hair. Enjoyed toast. Second morning excellent service!

Nice, clean rooms in a beautiful old villa. Quiet location and close to Newcastle city center or shopping, just a few minutes by car. Very friendly hosts and staff, award winning restaurant on site and a nice garden - if the weather permits it. We enjoyed staying there and can recommend this hotel.

Ate in for a change ( we’ve been enjoying take out Sunday Lunch pretty much weekly) and it was delicious. Had the steamed fish and I have to say that the onion cake that came with it was lovely. I could easily eat a plate of that on its own. The gnocchi with mushrooms was excellent too. Really enjoyed it and the Paris browns in the poached egg and toast starter were really tasty. Staff are great. Very friendly and welcoming but giving you enough space to enjoy your meal.

We've stayed here a few times over the years but this stay in particular was excellent. The room was lovely, the bathroom fabulous. The staff are lovely. We ate in the restaurant for the first time ... the food was excellent and the service was first class. They made it feel like a special occasion. We have relatives living nearby and will definitely stay again.
