施設は少し古いです。読書中にベッドサイドのライトが切れ、電気ケトルのプラグが機能していませんでした。これらの小さなこと以外は、すべて良かったです。シャトルサービスはお勧めです。ホテルから徒歩圏内に興味深いレストランがあります。ban but xianという中華麺の店に行ってみました。食べ物はとてもおいしかったです。

My husband and I stayed one night at the Burnaby location in order to attend a dinner function nearby. We checked into our room and the heater was already on and set at 68 and seemed to be working OK. Shortly after we arrived in the room, a maintenance person knocked on the door to see how the heater was working. That should have clued us in as to what would happen next. A bit later, the unit started to spit out cooler air. I might add that the unit never cycled off and on as it should. I turned the unit up to around 72 to see if that would make a difference but no it did not. We contacted the front desk and within 5 minutes, maintenance came to check. We were told that the heater had to remain at 68, no higher or it wouldn’t work. I have never heard of such a thing. High temperature in Vancouver was mid 40's dipping into the 30's at night. By this time, it was 5:30 and we had to head out the door for the dinner event at 6PM. I wish we would have demanded a different room, because when we returned it was definitely cooler in the room. We were both tired and needed to leave the hotel early in the morning so we decided to “gut it out”. I looked for additional blankets and there were none. I wound up sleeping a total of 2 hours in my coat. This was not a comfortable experience. I am generously giving this property 2 stars as the room itself was clean and the bedding was comfortable. The front desk clerk kindly gave us a 50% discount for our discomfort which was the best she could do, but when I contacted their HQ was offered a 50% discount off a future stay. Don't think I will take them up on that offer, but thanks anyway.
Thank you for the opportunity to describe my Inn at the Quay experience. I was booked for a day procedure at Royal Columbian Hospital at 6:00AM on Saturday May 20. Because I was travelling from out of town and had to be driven home (as a requirement of the procedure) I elected to travel by train to Vancouver and then New Westminster on the day before, Friday. On Tuesday May 16 I booked a room at your hotel for the night of the night of Friday May 19 for $389.00 ex-taxes. My plan was to take a cab to the Hospital and then my daughter was then going to drive to town to pick me up and drive me home after the procedure on Saturday. After travelling to New Westminster I had time to kill because I called the Inn at the Quay to see if I could get an early check in but was told that you were very busy and that was not possible. The hospital recommends attending with only your care card for security reasons. For this reason I had my BC Care Card and the credit card I used to book the room in my cellular phone case. During my wanders I lost my phone. Fortunately I had a significant amount of cash so I got a cab immediately and attended at your hotel. I explained my situation to the clerk on the desk and she said that she could not check me in without the credit card I used to book the room. I asked her if you would charge that card with the room price if I had not shown up and she agreed that that was the case. When I asked if she could just charge the card and let me stay she said that the situation was different and was against your policy. I questioned her further and she summoned a person form the back office who agreed that the situation was completely different and actually said “Sorry, we can’t help you.” When I suggested cancelling the credit card transaction and paying in cash that suggestion was also turned down. Reason was lost on these two minions that are trained to be slavishly obedient to your rules and policies. I am sure that if you question these two they will agree that I was polite and courteous throughout our encounter. After several attempts at circumventing their indifference I felt that I should leave before I started to get mad. As a competent, attentive and businesslike hotelier I am sure you are aware of the saturation in your market on any given day. If you harken back to May 19 you will recall that all of the other hotels in New Westminster and as far as Port Coquitlam were completely booked. No matter, I was able to avail myself of a comfortable chair in the admitting lobby of the Royal Columbian Hospital from 4:00PM on Friday until 6:00AM the following morning. Except of course when I had to leave the admitting lobby while the janitors polished the floors. Because the Emergency Room lobby was full I was able to meet some of the interesting local street residents that were outside at 2:30AM.
