ドーンランチ(Dawn Ranch)

We stayed in one of the Cottages of the Dawn Ranch in May 2024. It was our first time in Guerneville and we decided to stay at the Dawn Ranch, after seeing the pictures and reading the reviews. Since we had booked a Cottage with King bed, there was ample space for a family of 3 (including a 4 yr old). The room was nice and clean and they had provided complementary water, tea and coffee. it was also good that there was no TV in the room, which gave us more time as a family to sit and talk and enjoy. The location of the ranch is also perfect, with the Johnson Beach very close by. In the evening, the guest services provided us smores, which my son really loved. Couple of areas which can be improved:- 1. The pool was not very clean, with some insects floating in the water. Also, they say that the water temperature is maintained, however the water seemed cold to me. Also the surface of the pool has some worn out yellow patches, which overall gave the impression that the pool is not well maintained. 2. Some of the cottages (the one which we stayed at) are not on the main property and there is no guest services at the Grove, so for smores of other things, you have to walk down (short walk - across the road) to the main property. Also, the main property is more fun than the Grove.

Your check in person was not friendly or helpful. When we asked about the town and the ice cream place a friend had recommended she said it so quickly we really did not know where it was but later I saw another guest with a map of the town so it would have been nice for her to give us a map and show us the location of the ice cream place.

I went solo to celebrate my birthday and selected a smaller cabin. It was really tight. The grounds are amazing and I enjoyed the spa. It would be worth it to ensure you get accommodations well away from Hwy 116 and get one of the larger units. It would be worth it! Also, the restaurant is closed during the week, so I had to travel to get lunch and dinner. Be aware before you book!

well suited property in a serene and peaceful location. It was worth the time and well suited for what we planened and set out to do. I will tell others and wiull definitely come back soon. The community is also rey good. We walk tol the bar at night and it was very safe. I am not sure what elae to say, but requiring 100 words which I know what you are trying to do but may make others abandon the survey

Walking through the meadow was one of the most rejuvenating experiences that I've had in a long time. You just don't see open meadows like that in California very much. It was the perfect setting for a weekend getaway with the family.

2 bedroom cabins are located across a highway and not on the main campus- this means you need to pack up your car and drive over to the main campus every time you want a meal or do an activity. Then the parking lot ia full on the main campus. For families with young kids this is horribly inconvenient. Also, the 2 bedroom cabins are basically located around a parking lot with no grass for kids to run and the pictures make it seem like everyone is on the main campus. The main campus looks lovely but I really don’t recommend the 2 bed cabins (not to mention they are the most expensive option too!)

Loved the whole experience of the Dawn Ranch. Would love to visit again, but it is a little pricey for me

In short the place and its surroundings are beautiful, it's a very serene setting. It will make a perfect place to relax. However for $500 a night my expectations were high and definitely not met. Our bed was way too stiff. Was hoping for the pool to be open since it's heated but it's closed in the spring/winter and doesn't open until May. I was also surprised that you're only able to buy food/drinks while the lodge restaurant is open for breakfast or dinner. It would have been nice to go up and grab a coffee mid day, but no option.
