We had an incredible experience at the Chateau Saint-Gilles. The chateau was built in 1730 but has been completely renovated inside with all of the modern conveniences. Emerick, Anne-Sophie, Margot, and Barbara made sure everything was smooth. The grounds are stunning and the hotel is a perfect distance to all D-Day locations. Breakfast and dinner were amazing and a great way to start and/or end the day. We will definitely go back.

We visited the chateau last year with my cousin and her husband and we had such a wonderful time we decided to visit again this time just the two of us. We were met by the warm and friendly Margux on reception, it was lovely to see her again. The chateau and staff had not changed it was still a magical place to visit and we just loved our time there. The team at the chateau are all very helpful and I have to say we did not want to leave. We hope to return, it is a very special place.

What a wonderful place to stay! All the reviews are accurate. Lovely grounds and staff. Margo, Barbara and Emmerick are lovely to interact with and very accommodating. Our room was lovely, Clean, bright and comfy. The grounds are starting to pop along with the beautiful gardens. We were able to take advantage of the hot tub (a little warmer?). The pool was still closed for the season but it looked to be a wonderful spot to soak up the sun as the temps warm up. We used the Chateau as a base for our DDay tour and trip to Mont Saint Michel. 3 nights were lovely but wished we had a few more to enjoy here!! We dined one evening at the Chateau and our meal was Delicious and excellent service. Don't hesitate to book! Merci!

When we rounded the corner and saw the chateau I knew we were in a truly special place! Perfect location to visit the WW2 sites and lovely Bayeux. Absolutely beautiful accommodation and grounds! Comfortable beds and luxurious linens. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Food and service in the dining room exceptional. We had no reason to eat elsewhere. Highly recommend a stay at Chateau Saint Gilles!!

Chateau Saint Gilles was the 'surprise' of our two week trip to France. This place is elegant, beautiful and so peaceful. Only a 5 minute drive from Bayeux, it is very close to all the D-Day and Normandy sites. The grounds are beautiful. The dinner and breakfast we delicious and beautifully presented.

This is the fifth time that I have stayed at this beautiful property in a tiny hamlet just minutes from the centre of Bayeux. It is an 18th century chateau that has been lovingly restored and converted a luxury hotel fully deserving of all its stars. As always the owner and his staff were charming, courteous and helpful at all times. The rooms are a clever mix of traditional and extremely stylish contemporary and are finished to the highest quality. The bathrooms are particularly good. The restaurant and bar are also of the highest order. The bar is well stocked and staff are never far away. The food is extremely good and varies from night to night. The wine list is as good as any I have had in France. All in all to stay at Chateau St Gilles is no less than a delight and I shall return very soon.
