Perfect Stay in Cappadocia! The hotel is within walking distance from Goreme City Centre and the bus stop. The hotel's amenities and cleanliness are top-notch. The rooms are tastefully decorated and equipped with all modern conveniences. With its Turkish charm, the hotel is aesthetically pleasing and exudes a very relaxing vibe due to its limited number of rooms. We booked the Deluxe Cave Suite, which was incredibly spacious for the three of us, and the views from the terrace were mesmerizing. While breakfast may appear limited, it is filling and offers delightful local flavors. Additionally, there are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance of the city center. The staff and managers are warm and welcoming, with Feride being a particularly wonderful host, incredibly helpful throughout our stay. You can reach out to her in advance to plan your stay. When we encountered a last-minute issue with our hot air balloon booking, Feride assisted us in making a new reservation. Their hot air balloon operator is top-notch, with an experienced pilot, and they particularly select only the best local operators for all activities. They truly go above and beyond to ensure that your stay in Cappadocia is memorable. Our experience at Safran Cave Hotel was one of the highlights of our trip to Turkey, and while Cappadocia itself is magical, Safran Cave Hotel was the cherry on top. We highly recommend the hotel, and kudos to Feride for her exceptional hospitality.
I'm still reeling from the wonderful stay, that is Walnut House. Amongst hundredsss of hotels, tucked away in the heart of Goreme, this hidden gem left us feeling like we’d stumbled upon a secret, (I was debating whether to gate-keep). With their unique architecture, sweet touches throughout the place, and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, this humble family-run hotel is simply a work of art. Our room(7) was both cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Furthermore, their website allowed us to virtually take a walk through the hotel, prior to arriving, so we knew exactly what we were going into. Moving on to man of the hour, Ali, His selfless nature, patience and dedication were truly remarkable. He went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met, and his genuine hospitality made me feel like I were truly at home.
We got a huge room with 4 beds for 2 people! the room was in a cave shape with a very big bathroom which was well equipped with the toiletries. We only used 1 of the beds but since there was only 1 chair, the extra beds were pretty useful. The Since our room was massive, it was located on the ground floor so we did not get a balcony but we did get a huge porch kind of thing with a motor bike parked in it which was pretty cool. For those living on upper floors, there is no lift so be prepared to carry your luggage up and down the stairs. That's the case for most hotels in Cappadocia since they are built in caves and inside mountains. Toiletries included soap, body wash, shampoo, hair dryer, towels, slippers, mat, toilet paper and warm water. There were about 3-4 different small terraces with different types of seating areas which were pretty cool for taking pictures. All the balloons are very well visible from the hotel terrace so you don't have to go anywhere else to see them. You can get a good view of the entire city since the hotel is on top of a mountain. There are only 10 rooms in the hotel so it's not very busy and you can get your own space pretty much anywhere in the property. It was like staying at your grandma's heritage property and made us feel very homely. The road outside the hotel is partially paved with a maximum of 2 car parking spaces and couple of scooters since the street is pretty narrow. Breakfast was Turkish platter with fruits, cheese, dips, cereals, breads, olives, French toast, tea, coffee, juice and water. We did not have dinner at the hotel so cant say anything about that. Overall the stay was pleasant because of the authentic cave room that we got as per our expectation. Disliked: The room had everything except for the tea, coffee, water and water kettle. These were only available on the roof top restaurant for free all day but not in the room so we had to climb 2 stories every time to get a cup of coffee or water. The first water bottle provided in the room is free after that you can have from the restaurant or buy your own. There was 1 tiny window in the very big room so most of the time it was pretty dark, even in the day. We had to switch on each and every lamp in the room. Although that's expected in a cave hotel but then there was no view as from the room. In general our stay was pleasant but we felt that we overpaid for what we got. We would be much happier with the same stay if it was a little cheaper. We are making this comparison with other hotels in Turkey with similar facilities.
