We stayed here for a week and it is all new and clean. The outside and inside look great. Bed is lovely, room quiet and breakfast was good. Tram right outside so easy into Caen. We had the family room so slept 4 and had the big bathroom. Has air con and windows open properly.

Mercure Heuroville-St.Claire staff was great and very helpful. The restaurant was quite good but a very limited menu. Breakfast was excellent! Our room was okay but too hot after the whole hotel AC was turned off. We had no way to just run the fan or open a window. It was also in an industrial area that we will avoid if we return to the Caen area.

If you're not an EU citizen or if there are non-EU citizens in your group, I highly recommend you to avoid this hotel because you will be asked to fill lengthy forms, which is not the case in other hotels.

We booked the Mercure as they are usually lovely, however this hotel is definitely not worthy of its four stars. The hotel room was spacious but it was filthy. Spiders webs, dead spiders, dirty toilet, mould everywhere in the bathroom on the tiles and green stains on the wall/wallpaper in the room, where product has been poured down it and not cleaned… It is outdated and does not reflect the hotel’s images at all ! Really disappointing and waste of money.

This hotel is more like a Super 8. It is located in a business district with no restaurants within walking distance and there is a train that passes by a few blocks from the hotel that goes into town. After a long day of sightseeing and the darkness, it is unreasonable to have to find the train, pay the fare, find a restaurant and then get back to the hotel. The hotel does have a restaurant and our first dinner was included in the tour. Fourteen of us tried the dinner and the only thing eatable was the dessert. When asked the next day who wanted to reserve a table at the hotel restaurant for dinner, not one person in our group reserved. Now we are searching the internet for the closest restaurants in the area only to find out no taxi's will come so far out of town. We were there three miserable nights and ended up buying snacks during our tours and eating them in our room for dinner while we watch tv that all in French. Some of our tour companions were in rooms with no or broken tv, so I guess that was a bonus. We have stayed in quite a few Mercure hotels that were fine. Stay away from this one. We were traveling with SmarTours on the Heart of France tour. Several of us have complained to them about this hotel but it is once again offered on their 2023 tours.

We will definitively welcome back. Very good connection to Ouistreham and Caen. Very quit place.Good services. Great accommodations. Very friendly staff. Great Cleanliness and sleep quality. And much more positive feedback...

As part of the organization I volunteer with, Best Defense Foundation, we took a group of WWII veterans to Normandy for the 78th Commemoration of D-Day and stayed here. The staff of the Mercure was incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive to our group’s every need. We were a large group, but they never made us feel like it was a daunting task to take excellent care of us! From the front desk, to housekeeping and breakfast in the lounge, each interaction was service with a smile. With sincere appreciation, we look forward to our next stay!

Overpriced. Grumpy receptionist. Strange musty smell throughout hotel. No air con. Restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating however.

Outside of town but good location if you come by car and want to visit some Normandie beaches. Nice bathroom with good water pressure but only one bath towel in a double room - we had to ask for one for the second person. Very dark room, only small high level window, cause there is an ugly roof going up until far, dark carpet. No minibar/fridge. This is more like a 3 star room to me.

The hotel is a scam. By creating a presentable lobby, it has managed to pass itself as a Mercure, which gets a 4* rating in France. But the rooms, the corridor, and the bathroom is smelly, dilapidated, and is falling apart. Dirty, disgusting carpet in the room. Even touching door knobs makes you feel dirty. The corridor leading to the rooms is falling apart, paint chipping off the walls and broken doors and windows. The room is just dirty and cheap, more like a 1 star hotel. The bathroom was bearable, but still had an old toilet and the sink area was dirty. Downgrade this to Ibis Budget.

Hotel van de Accor keten. Ontbijt is goed, continentaal een wordt regelmatig aangevuld. Diner in het restaurant is heel matig, weinig keuze en matige kwaliteit. Als je via Accor boekt moet je bij aankomst al betalen wat wij beneden de waardigheid vinden. Het personeel is niet in staat om dat op begrijpelijke wijze uit te leggen. Personeel is verder vriendelijk en behulpzaam op één persoon na, een marokaanse die niets heeft begrepen van dienstbaarheid. Zij kan alleen in tiktok taal communiceren en laat duidelijk merken dat alle actie die zij moet ondernemen te veel moeite is. .Beter iets meer betalen via Booking zodat je nog kan annuleren. Het hotel zit midden in een renovatie. De kamers zijn vernieuwd, dat is prettig. De airco/luchtverversing maakte op onregelmatige momenten een hoop lawaai waardoor wij deze hebben moeten uitschakelen om te kunnen slapen. Maar het restaurant en de toiletten daar zijn nog niet onder handen genomen.
