ホテル ステク(Hotel Stekl)

Supposing to be a great hotel it turned out a big disappoin**ent. As we were a group of 20 upon arrival there was only one receptionist (2 more behind the desk but we’re dressing their coats to leave, instead of maybe helping their colleague?). There was nobody to help to carry the luggage to the 1st floor. Be aware no elevator. The stairs were poor lighted, when I asked to add more light to prevent accidents she told me there were no lamps to substitute the old ones. 4 stars hotel and has no spare lamps??? On the 1st floor bed rooms there are several where you can’t stand up. Like low attic rooms. Hitting your head going to the bath room, to the bed, man is not being able to stand up his necessities. Some of the rooms have no view at all. She shower is renovated but you have to hold in your hand and be careful you don’t wet the towel on the ground. There is no hanger to hang your towel near the shower or where to put. The stairs and hallway have lack of light and as fall hasn’t started yet, the paint is coming off. The food at dinner was pretty good quality, though the serving not the same. They were “kind” and hard working with all the tables occupied, but have no eduction of serving. Passing in front, serving 1st the man instead of the ladies on the table, some basics are needed. Also at breakfast the food was good and some one waiter, she was very kind the other one very unpleasant girl. If I would come back I would make sure that I would have a room where you can walk and stand, not having a wall in front of the window.

The hotel was really nice, the view was amazing. But... The staff was bad - all staff.

The hotel looks like a castle from outside and it’s proximity to Hlubka castle is amazing. Inside it’s pretty run down. You need to hold shower head im your hands as there is no fixture for it. Pool and jacuzzi area is pretty nice although super out dated. Stuff is nice with one big exception - our waitress in the restaurant was so rude I actually never encountered this type of behaviour anywhere. Food in the restaurant was pretty good although restaurant itself lacks the ambiance. No bar service. (Maybe not available not in high season?). Breakfast was mediocre at the best. The hotel has a big potential however it really lacks in service and facilities.

Hotel facilities were really good and convenient to visit the castle. We had an inconvenient on the restaurant that wasn’t manage in a good way. We were really disappointed with this.

Hotel will need some kind of reconstruction in near future... Even if it is an historical building. Free parking is more joke than reality, anyhow it is dependent od type of car your are driving, for office of parents car should be OK to park on the edge of the sidewalk near narrow road downhill in winter...

Excellent! We very much enjoyed our stay. It’s super convenient and you feel like a queen sleeping at the castle! Kids enjoyed it. Only the hot tub isn’t very hot.

Fabolous hotel with great service. We felt like kings in our gorgeous double room, which in any other place would have been called a suite. Super service all through the hotel, the library bar and the ambitious restaurant. The breakfast also lived up to the same high standards, with a chef cooking up egg dishes before you. Though technically the hotel is not part of the actual hluboka Castle, it is situated on it's grounds, and you still very much feel that you are living in a Castle. Amazing place.

Last time we didn’t have to pay extra for the Sauna. Now, we were surprised by the request (after checkout) to pay for it. We’ll do so, but we are really disappointed as nobody told us beforehand that the use comes with an extra fee. We really loved this place, but in this case we will look out for a place in the city centre next time.

The setting and appearance of this hotel are magical and the town of Hluboka is lovely. We had a deluxe room which overlooked the town and made us feel like royalty. Some of our friends had rooms on the upper level with low ceilings and awkward bathroom configurations so be sure to specify a lower level room if these issues are of concern. Staff is friendly and helpful.
