We had a wonderful experience at the Gran Via. The rooms were impeccable; over a couple of different stays in December & January, we tried a regular room as well as the suites, all were lovely. I particularly recommend the junior suite with the mural on the ceiling (room #6), it was a really special room. The spa & hammam were small but really nice, a perfect way to decompress after work, skiing in the Sierra, etc. The location of the hotel is very central to the Granada cathedral area, as well as the Albaicin. Walkable to many restaurants, bars, & tourist sites. And the rooftop has beautiful views of the cathedral and the Alhambra. What really stood out is the service. The staff was very attentive and went out of their way to make us feel welcome & comfortable. Would definitely stay at the Gran Via again next time I'm in Granada.
When I arrived, the reception desk clerk never made an eye contact with me, gave me the key card and pointed to the left and said to go to the elevator, without ever looking at me. All right, I went to the left: the first elevator doesn’t go to the floor I need, I keep going, the second one- doesn’t go there either. The third one did. The 6 th floor gave off pretty bad smell, the toilet smell. The room small and everything dilapidated, I’ll attach pictures. Some kind of contraption on the window to regulate the blinds that goes only one direction ( see image), but worst of all, the A/C blows air all right, but just room temperature. Toilet seat either dirty or stained and looooong overdue to be replaced. So… that’s my experience.
One night stay for a short trip to visit Granada and Alhambra. Wanted somewhere with a car park and easy access both to city itself and also to road network which this hotel fitted the brief perfectly. Small charge for the underground car park and bus stop outside to get into the city. Hotel was clean and functional. Check in out was very easy and staff were really helpful and spoke excellent English. Special call out to Ivan. Breakfast was also extensive and tasty. Reasonable price so no complaints.
My husband and I went to this hotel during our honeymoon. It looked great online, with 5 star ratings. On our first night there, we had no hot water. There is a rainfall shower and a shower attachment in the bathtub. We spent the whole day outside and were looking forward to a shower. The water was cold int he rainfall shower and barely lukewarm in the bathtub. We called the front desk, and a man came by and said our options were either cold showers tonight or to shower in the spa. The next night, we requested a different room in which the showers were hot. We were then told it was a problem in the whole hotel and they were trying to find us a room. They gave us a handicap accessible room, which would have been fine except the toilet was in the shower. We requested a different room, and the hotel agent confirmed the water would be warm. I was very excited to have a shower, and I had 2 minutes of lukewarm water and then it was cold again. Granada was already wet and chilly, and this really dampened our stay. No refund or discount was offered. I didn’t have a warm shower the whole time I was there, which for a 5 star hotel is ridiculous.
