we stayed one week at P&V Houlgate. we booked a cottage for 8 persons, with our family of 4. this was enough space, although not exagerated big. nice pool area and spa. good location for trips in the area (Deauville, Cabourg, Caen). nice and clean park.

Nice residence with apar**ents in main building or in separate buildings. Small kitchen well equipped for own cooking. Fridge with freeze box. Dishwasher. Kit with tea cloth, dishwasher tablets, and detergent provided. Sufficient space, clean, comfortable beds. Nice view over Houlgate and the sea. Heated pools indoors and outdoors. Areas for sports activities.

As usual a lot depends on what you like. The pros: 1) Price. In shoulder season this is fantastic value. Roughly £40 per night with mode stay cleaning and a Famileast meal delivery for 2. 2) Location. Great views of Houlgate, the sea and surrounding countryside. Quiet site, but out of town. Car preferred, but if you are a walker not essential. Houlgate is a lovely small seaside town. Calmer than Cabourg or Deauville/Trouville. 3) Apar**ent. Fully equipped for cooking. Good telly. French, German and Italian channels. Great views from balcony. Comfortable bed. In our case upgraded two two shower/bathroom and two toilets, one separate. And bunk bed room for children. We booked a one bed apar**ent. Nice decor. Lots of storage space. Cleaning kit good. Reasonable cutlery and crockery. 4) Facilities. Fantastic open air pool that was warm enough for me. No gingerly edging into it! Warm water external shower. Lots of sunbeds. 5) Reception/Accrual. Friendly staff. Can use English or French or our stay Italian. Your French will be tolerated, but English sometimes works better! 6) Spa. Did not use, but can access to indoor pool without payment. 7) Extras. The pain and viennoissirie booking service is good. Not cheap but bakery, rather than supermarket, prices. Tip must reserve by 18.00 even though reception open until 19.00. Quality varies, but never poor and those pain aux raisins are Paul Hollywood handshake standard. The Famileat meal service is delivered perfectly packed - note only delivered on some days - see Famileat website. Interesting range of meals. Slightly more than supermarket prices, but more varied. Also good for vegetarians. Saves going shopping so often. Cons. I would stress these are minor and did not worry us. 1) Main bedroom slightly tight for space and with a sloping ceiling on one side. 2) Steep stairs in a Duplex apar**ent. There is a stair gate- only at the top- to stop you falling down in the dark. 3) Watch out for open kitchen cabinet doors. Mind your head. 4) No oven. Everything else is there and the dishwasher works well. Not a problem for us there is a goid pizzeria for takeaway in Dives sue Met at Port Guillame. 5) Wi-Fi password changed without warning in 2nd week of stay. Easy to get a new one.

Good location. Nice view. Nice outdoor pool. Staff is on the defensive and busy justifying the shortcomings of some problems: garden COCKROACHES are apparently NORMAL and aren’t a concern. Noise from chairs from upper levels units “cannot be helped”. The cleanup before our arrival is poorly done: toilet bowls and garden badly have barely been cleaned. What a pity. Could have done a much better job.

We had a really nice stay! The staff was super nice. We had some issues with the safety deposit box and the dishwasher, and everything was taken care of. The pool is really nice.

Beautiful surroundings, lovely location to Holgate and Carbourg. Excellent heated pool (kids loved it) and really friendly staff. The accommodation was slightly tired but would definitely stay again.

Staff were great helped when we needed (speak good english), apar**ent was nice, clean, well equipped and comfortable, quiet in the evenings. The location is VERY VERY PRETTY, France is a large and beautiful country with open spaces - this stood out to us, coming from NL. The road near the facility was very narrow and can be difficult when other cars come from the opposite direction. My only recommendation to the hotel, is to open the fitness room earlier (maybe 06:00 or 07:00, so people can train early in the morning. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay - we love Normandy.
