Spacious - Comfortable - Private. Looking for an Adirondack Mountain vacation for a large family, extended family or a getaway with friends? This 4-bedroom home has 6 beds, plus additional sleeping. Bedroom 1: 1 King Bed; Bedroom 2: 1 Queen plus 1Twin; Bedroom 3: 1 King; Bedroom 4: 1 Queen plus 1 Twin.  Plus, there are 2 additional fold-up twin beds available in closet of king bedrooms to roll out; linens, blankets & pillows included, all on 2nd floor.  2nd Floor has 2 full bathrooms, one in the Master Bedroom, the 2nd in hallway just outside of bedrooms. On the main floor, for additional sleeping, or for someone not wanting to climb stairs, the living room couch pulls out to a queen bed and the couch in den pulls out to a full bed, technically a 5th bedroom, allowing room for 12 people maximum. Nightly pricing is for 8 guests, however, there is sufficient room for up to 4 additional guests (total 12 guests) for an additional $50/guest/night. Main Floor has a 3rd full bathroom (vanity, toilet, shower unit). Laundry room adjacent with full size washer/dryer; various detergents Included. Home hosts a spacious kitchen - fully equipped with pots/pans, cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, platters, coffee/tea station, slow cooker, pasta/lobster pot, plus much more.  Plenty of room for multiple cooks. The breakfast table has seating for 6-8 plus with counter seating; large living room with 2 couches and 4 comfy chairs (2 swivel/rocker/recliners); dining room for 8-12. Front den offers a convertible couch (opens to full-size couch), with modest privacy as an additional bedroom to sleep, relax, read a book or play a game. Out back is a large deck which overlooks the AuSable River with a BBQ grill and deck seating for all. To spend time by the water, just go down the back stairs and follow the path leading right to the shore of the river. The front porch has volleyball nets and badminton nets, croquet, etc., basketball/soccer ball/kickball for spring/summer/fall and a selection of sleds for winter sliding. The property is adjacent to the Keene Community Center which offers a Playground for young children (as of 4/04, currently being updated), basketball & tennis courts, ice skating rink in winter with sledding hill, sports field and a Pavilion; available to reserve for occasions i.e., birthday party, bridal shower, etc. Home is within walking distance to a wonderful fresh/homemade bakery/food store and nearby restaurants, shops, etc. The house is centrally located in the Adirondack High Peaks with just a short drive to most of the Adirondack 46 mountains and a15-20 scenic drive to Lake Placid. Welcome to the Cozy Cottage in the Heart of the Adirondack Mountains! It's nice to go away and feel at home. The cottage features a knotty-pine living room with a large leather couch (not a pull-out sleeper). The well-equipped kitchen contains a full refrigerator/freezer, microwave, x-large toaster oven, toaster, coffee maker, glassware, silverware, plates, pots, pans, utensils, blender, crock pot, etc. The bathroom has a shower unit (no bathtub). The separate bedroom contains a queen-size bed with plenty of closet storage and dresser to unpack your suitcases, put everything away, relax, head out and enjoy. For your convenience, there is a compact washing machine, although small, to clean your clothes; plus electric clothes dryer.When a reply is sent that the cottage is available, the website will automatically send you an email requesting payment of one-half of the total to be sent in advance to confirm the reservation. There will be a 48-hour hold on your requested dates to allow you time to complete details on your end. The one-half payment can be paid by credit card through this website. When the website sends a request for the one-half payment, you will notice a 'service fee' has been added to the quoted amount. This fee goes directly to the website. We recommend exercising caution and considering weather conditions when planning your travel. • Our property offers a private retreat with the closest neighbor over 150 yards away, ensuring complete privacy. You cannot see another house in any direction from the cabin or outdoor area. Despite the secluded setting, you’re just a 10-minute drive from town, where you’ll find a gas station, convenience store, grocery stores, shops, and restaurants.• Due to our location in the mountains cell reception is spotty. You can make and receive calls if you enable WiFI calling on your phone.• We do share the bottom portion of our driveway with one of our neighbors so we ask that you please park only at the end of the driveway near our house.• Given our location in the ADKs, you may encounter wildlife. The hiking trail we have created on our property does follow a heard path so you may see deer or other wildlife along the trails. There WILL be bugs. Please pack bug spray and leave all screens in the house closed at all times to avoid allowing bugs indoors. As part of the Adirondack wilderness, you may encounter wildlife, including mice, moths, ants, flys, etc in or around the cabin despite our best efforts to keep them out!• We are a family-friendly rental and we have children of our own whom absolutely love spending time at our property. That being said, children MUST be supervised at all times. Our hiking trail leads to a gorgeous overlook however, it is at the top of a ridge which could pose great danger to young children. There will also be uneven terrain throughout the property. The fire pit areas are also areas where children should have close supervision to avoid any serious injuries. **Children are NOT allowed in the loft. The ladder going up to the loft area poses a hazard to children.• We do not have AC however, we do have ample windows in every room as well as either a ceiling fan or portable fan.• We do have a Pack-N-Play, high chair, infant tub and hiking carrier available for use. • Our cabin is dog-friendly. We do allow up to 2 well behaved dogs. Please send us a message ahead of booking and be sure to add your dog(s) to the reservation if you plan to bring your dog(s).
