Amari Johor Bahru - Junior Suite We were lucky that we got upgraded to the Junior Suites at Amari Johor Bahru. The room was bright, modern, spacious and clean and it was warm and cosy. It comes with Executive Club privileges, a working area, a private balcony with stunning views and free Wi-Fi. I loved that the bathtub and shower area were within the "wet area" so if you have kids who loved to splash in the bathtub, they wont wet the whole bathroom. I really like the spacious bathroom especially when you have 2 kids or more! The pool is basic but it was good enough for my kids and take note that it closed at 7pm. The location is superb, just across Komtar and City Square Mall but you need to cross a road. Lots of restaurants, shops and there is even an indoor playground at Komtar. Hotel breakfast was great with a variety of local cuisines from chinese to malay to indian dishes. The teh tarik and nasi lemak was good! Do not miss the breakfast! The staff were splended. They were very polite and friendly and service is impeccable. Overall, we loved the short stay and the added touches of luxury.

Checked in late at night for 2 night stay. My first room was horrible dusty bed room, facing other balcony and connect to another room and worst of all the shower room wall, grout, drainage, basin were mouldy. Did not dare to use the shower room and sneezing all night. Barely slept and decided to look for duty manager the next morning. Ms Ili was empathy and offered a room moved later and help me to arrange take away breakfast as no time to take buffet breakfast which already paid. 2nd room was much better. Buffet Breakfast was good and friendly staff at level 1 and restaurant.

Booked 1 night for family, the location is accessible and near shopping areas. No chance to use swimming pool and fitness centre, but it looks clean and complete. Breakfast is serving local food and western food, choices are good enough. Service staffs are friendly, polite and flexible. Must praise their housekeeping staffs, they delivered a impressed service to us that they called us to make sure the items being delivered on time. Hope they will keep it up.

This is my third stay at Amari. Its disappointing. I couldnot really get the rest i was hoping for. At night the lights in the toilet burst and let out a loud pop sound. I was so shocked and scared of using the the toilet as it was dark, let alone take shower. Not sure if its safe or not due to the circuit failure. It took about 2 hrs before someone came to change the light bulbs after rectifying the issues since it affected 3 rooms on the 9th floor including mine Room 903. The nx day I managed to check out a little later than usual but we couldnot sleep after breakfast, because we are afraid we would oversleep. I hope Amari would do maintanence regularly.
