The location is on the other side of the island, making this less hectic and very relaxing. The resort is fantastic, and the employees make this an unforgettable journey. They are polite and always think one step ahead to make you feel comfortable. They pride themselves on working at the results; you can feel and sense they are proud and authentic in their interactions. Since we are loyal Marriott Bonvoy members, the resort had the opportunity to upgrade us to a family villa, which was amazing. My wife said she definitely wants to go back in the future. We all know what she wants is what she gets :) So we will be back

Lots of things has been written already: no beach for a resort, lack of maintenance, missing head of management but the staff makes the difference. Hotel score: 2/5, people 5/5!! We spend their 10 days and people were so nice and helpful to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Sorry if I Forgot names but from Megan, Annette, Beatrice, Ben at welcome desk to David, Josephine and more from restaurant, plus the team from the spa, they were all so kind. Special thanks to captain Haji, he went beyond his job and was so patient ;-) The hotel is well located, rooms or villas spacious, food is good, prices are ok for the starring and location. An effort also has on substantiality as the hotel is an Autograph Collection, we expect more, even in Zanzibar. Options exist, we are in 2024, come on...

Incredible views. Reception and pool area brilliant- loved the day beds. Room (ocean front deluxe) very good - loved the robin batista (local Zanzibar photographer) picture hanging on the wall. Loved the breakfast (lots of fresh fruit and salads), some unusual stuff that you don’t see often like baobab juice and spiced cold water. Decor in the rooftop barbecue restaurant basic and a bit lacking - some white cotton tablecloths, fabric napkins (not paper services please), some pretty lights on the tables (solar string lights in a mason jar would be great) to be able to read the menu and see the food would be great- the few big industrial lights were horrid. Snorkelling off the hotel boat was fabulous with thoughtful touches like the cut fruit and cold water. Bar was disappointing, liked the white leather sofas but needed some softer touches and basic things like getting the snacks more upmarket would be good. The spa was good - loved Kadala the masseuse. Staff were lovely but a few glitches

Mostly very positive but some need for improvement. Positives : -We had a wonderful large room with a Panoramic view of the sea with our own small private pool. -Great staff at reception and throughout. -Very helpful with booking excursions. -Transport available on request. -Very nice pool. Negatives : - Nice gym but some of the equipment needs maintenance. -The food was nice but the service is inconsistent . Small changes would help the experience. Even the layout of the tables in the restaurant needs looking at to make it more intimate . Including lighting and music. - the same goes for the outside bar . Most people come here to completely relax and absorb the natural setting . The bar needs chill out music with more intimate lighting and not the current neon lighting and mixed music . - they do not seem to have figured out the right theme for the hotel yet. - no beach ( not the hotels fault ) -the spa is overpriced. Great hotel with even greater potential .

We had our wedding at Le Mersenne and it was honestly a wedding for the books. The team at Le Mersenne were super accommodating. We had 95 guests checking in, and so they had a process set in place to ensure everyone had a smooth check in and check out, and also had people available to attend to guests requests throughout their stay. We basically had the entire hotel for ourselves, and it couldn't have been any better than what it was. The food was delicious, the cocktails were great, the room service was available when we needed it (after midnight). Overall the resort is beautiful, and not one to be missed:

Those people saying there is no beach and that there should be sun beds and umbrellas should stick to Spain !! There is a beach but it’s tidal. When the tide goes out it’s great to explore the sea life. (You need reef shoes). It’s a paradise and u spoilt which is exactly as it should stay. You can snorkel and swim from the jetty. The villas are just beautiful and the beds comfy. Great food lovely staff and a lovely pool. Not a beach place for kids if I’m honest. But for grown ups it’s idillic
