If you want to enjoy your holiday, please do not book at this resort! The first day we arrived in the evening around 23:00. To check-in, they are making a copy of your passport (while this is not happening in other resorts in zanzibar or tanzania). Coming in to the room we saw that the beds were full of stains and there was a huge nest of insect eggs in the shower. After going back and forth to the reception they finally changed the bedding and removed the insect eggs. The next day they came for a deepcleaning of the room. The power at the resort keeps falling out, hence your aircon will stop in the middle of night. In two weeks time this happened a couple times every night. Everytime, we woke up from the heat and then noticed the aircon was off again. We also stayed at another resort where there was no power outage at all, thus this was a problem specific to paradise beach resort. Likely due to overload on the power network. At a certain point the aircon stopped working all together. Luckily they were able to fix the aircon. The matrass in the main room was sagged. My mom already had pain in her back and it didnt get any better sleeping on that matress. We went to another resort for 3 days and here the matress was good and my mom didnt have that much pain in her back anymore, until we returned to Paradise Beach Resort, where it started all over again. Since I cannot eat meat, garlic or union we checked out the a la carte restaurant before we arrived, but unfortunately this restaurant was closed (without notifying us beforehand), only the snacks could be ordered. This made it very difficult for me to eat something nice on holiday. At a certain point the entire coconut bar was closed, which meant I did not have any food at all. We had to contact more than 3 people from the resort in order to get some food, each time telling us its not possible. Eventually the chef of the restaurant did make the samosa for me, but it took us more than an hour to even get it arranged. Additionally, the walking buffet was not clean at all, as the first day the yoghurt was sour but the second day it was not, indicating to me it was kept outside the fridge for way too long. There was also some blue/white stuff on the cheese, and the guests in the resort are touching the food with their bare hands and tasting the souces from the spoon and putting it back in. The resort didnt pay attention to all of this and just let it happen. My mom still has stomach ache from eating the buffet. The bathroom has a horrible sewage smell, as the sewage smell comes up through the toilet. This is also something we havent experienced in the other resort we stayed in or in the lodges of the safari. So again something specific to paradise beach resort. The pillow outside had been pooped on by birds, and instead of cleaning it, they just turn it around. Not acceptable and really disgusting! Last but not least, one of the last days we went to the butterfly centre, and I had left my sigare
the final bill was higher than what we used, so... The check-out time is until 10, although when we ordered in the online system it was written that until 11 o'clock. Staying in the room until 11 was not allowed. The food is delicious, but I saw the waiter putting the food that fell out back into the dish. Some of the staff are very polite, but certainly not all. The location is great, the beach too. We bought the tours from the locals outside the hotel gate, it was cheaper and an interesting experience.
We stayed here for one week in a superior bungalow in December over new years. The welcome was lovely and personally met by the guest experience manager with a refreshing cold wet flannel and a chilled fresh juice bought to you as well. Once the paper work is done you get shown around your room. Our bungalow was big and clean with a big comfortable bed, the room was cleaned and mopped and every day, in the evening a turn down service where they also sprayed the room and removed any rubbish. There was a kettle, fridge, coffee machine, hairdryer , a free safe with the key on your door key ring and fresh safe drinking water which is replenished every day as well as drinks in the fridge. We booked directly with the hotel and booked the experienced couples package which included 7Nts all inclusive, airport transfers, trip to the spice farm and stone town. Food is cooked to order you get a breakfast and lunch menu with specials at lunch and dinner is a new menu every night. All produce is washed in bottled water and ice is also made from it as well. The food is delicious but the service doesn’t match the standard which lets the experience down. We could be waiting up to an hour for food and drinks get forgotten so you have to re order again and again. It’s a shame as having this organised in a more efficient way would only improve their guests experience, there are enough staff but seem to hang around chatting or polishing glasses with their backs to the guests. The staff are lovely and genuinely seem happy at work and always have a friendly welcome and or smile for guests. Tips are in a box at reception and divided to all staff. Service is slow around the pool and we didn’t see any snacks or offer of them. The pool bar hardly ever has anyone there serving. The jetty is a lovely place to lounge as there’s a lovely breeze and even though the tide is way out they have made a pool to reserve sea water which is cleaned every 2 days, there is a bar at the jetty as well but again you only get service if it is staffed even though it says it’s open 11-17:00. They have a tip box at reception that gets divided among all staff so this is a good incentive for them to all do their best. They also have a basket for any donation for the less fortunate in the community which was lovely. I purchased some sanitary pads when we went to stone town and put them in there. There isn’t much outside the hotel so you can’t just go for a walk. There is no beach due to the tide and the mangrove it’s just sandy mud in the day and when the tide comes is it’s right up to the hotel. They do have a transfer service to and from a beach which is an 11 minute drive and you need to book it the day before. All you need to do is purchase a drink at the beach bar for the use of their beds. You take beach towels from the hotel to use there. The general manager and guest experience manager are around for any needs or questions you have. Due to the resort being small they r

Great Place i can highly recommend. Very nice and helpful staff. The Hotel is very Clean and everything is working well. The Pool area is lovely and invites to hang out. It was already my second time staying at Aluna Paje and it was as Great as the First time.
IItaiThe service was splendid, the receptionist was so gentle and understanding. Their restaurant service is top tier. I won't mind staying there again on my second trip.
Chegando no quarto, tuo estava impecável. So Lovely! Comida excelente! Boa carta de vinhos! Room service muito rápido. Limpeza impecável. Ambientes estilosos. A água do frigobar é cortesia e deixam em grande quantidade, o que é uma raridade em hotéis. Ganharam mil pontos comigo neste sentido! Voltaria mil vezes! Nota 11 !!!!
