The staff were very helpful and wonderful! Me and my family really enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely return in the future!

Friendly staff, good breakfast options. The rooms were clean. The ocean can just barely be seen from the second floor, which is nice for a “dune view” price. If you’re on the first floor “dune view” is literally a 5 foot tall wooden wall and hill of sand directly outside your window. Avoid the first floor unless you could care less about the view.

Great location on the beach, easy access to activities and restaurants in the area. The only negative for us was that sound passed through the walls of our room pretty easily - we could hear people talking in the next room.

Enjoy the beach access. Variety of several food places within reasonable distance. Plus a few shopping mall *****s. People in the area all have been nice & pleasant.

Love Shutters!! Rooms are always spotless, good quality linens and towels, very comfortable beds, great free breakfast, and an excellent bargain. Right on the beach. Always my go to place to stay at Outer Banks.

Shutters on the Banks is a little older than some of the hotels along the Outer Banks, but it is wonderfully maintained and inviting. It is great for families because the bathrooms (though small and a little dated) are right inside the door - pool or ocean mess can be left there without making a mess of the rest of the room. The rooms are HUGE and the beds are amazingly comfortable. The breakfast offered was a great variety - from pastries to waffles, eggs, biscuits, gravy, fruit, yogurt and cereal. And the staff was wonderful - they made check-in and check-out simple - all the information needed was on printed materials and pointed out for easy reference. Although we didn't swim, there is an indoor pool - and the towers offered a gorgeous view of the dunes with a walkway leading up to a restful gazebo. Don't miss this place!

Awesome place. Love the sand dunes. Love Kitty Hawk Kites. So much fun. My wife and I are already planning on going back there again in a couple years.
